One thing that has helped me some against both paradox and gemini is to play an unprotected 7/1 golem if they start to get dangerous creatures on their side (10 att+ for paradox or momentum'd anything for gemini). They often will spam all their TU's on your 7/1 destroyer instead of their own because if its ability, even though they cant use it.
i have to disagree with you here Nume
i find that leaving an unquinted, ungrowthed golem is about as good as fractalling firemasters vs Graviton (meaning not good at all)
Gemini has a pattern that it follows
to put simply,
- it will put out a few momentum the first couple of turns
- it will put up phase shield chain pending threats on your side (high atk critter or >2 critters)
- it will momentumed and TU'd dragon/recluse if either one of you is below certain HP limit or when it has reached a number of Unstoppables/TUs in its hand (i'm not sure about the math but you will notice similar pattern with Elidnis and Paradox)
putting up an unprotected golem will break this pattern and WILL attract TU from his side
so instead of being safe for another couple of turns (because the last part of the pattern is when they move in to alpha strike you), you will suddenly face half a dozen momentumed 8/2 golems out of nowhere if you try this trick so my advice is, dont try it
