0/10, I laughed so hard at the first one for some reason, but the others sort of got lamer as it went along.

Archived Decks / Re: Instosis [FG][OTK][Arena]

Awesome deck, props to everyone who contributed to the creation of this deck. No one would ever have thought that an 8 card combo could be this consistent. It's a revolution to our deck building principles.

Wow, I love this idea, good work best one I've seen in a while, + karma (or whatever it is now called), and looks quite balanced too. Also fits into the theme so nicely. Yeah, I think this would be a great addition to elements if it's not too difficult to code.

Edit: hmm, how does the new karma system work...

Issue Archive / Mitosis and hour glass
« on: November 03, 2011, 11:42:49 pm »
I'm pretty sure this is what happened. I was happily farming FG, then when I tried to play an hourglass I accidentally clicked mitosis. The instruction for me to choose the target then popped up, but I didn't quite notice it, so I see my hour glass was not played, so I clicked the hourglass again, this time succeeded in playing it while the targetting instruction is still there. I then clicked cancel, but instead of the mitosis, another hourglass appeared in my hand. I proceeded to play the hourglass then noticed that I have 5 hourglasses in a deck packed with only 4. As for the mitosis? it completely disappeared.

Design Theory / Re: Entropy and Thermodynamics
« on: November 01, 2011, 10:22:10 pm »
I will not claim that I have a very extensive understanding of it, but I probably understand it enough to give you an idea on the concept. Basically entropy is the measure of disorder or chaos in a system. Scattered things have more entropy than closely clustered things, gas has more entropy than liquid, and liquid more than solid. An increase in potential energy causes an decrease in entropy, a decrease in potential energy causes an increase in energy. Because things located farther relative to the center of the Earth has more gravitational potential, they have less entropy than things closer to the center of Earth. The universe favors chaos, therefore things has a tendency toward disorder. So the second law of thermodynamic states that all changes either directly or indirectly increases the entropy of the universe. So basically, entropy of the universe always increases, even if you try to decrease the disorder of a local system, you will still cause a greater increase to the entropy of the surrounding to make the net entropy positive. Because the universe favors disorder, entropy can be used to predict if a change will likely to happen spontaneously. In general if a change causes an increase in entropy (e.g. solid changing to liquid to gas, a deck of card become mixed up when you throw it, things located higher falls down) it will likely happen spontaneously, if a change causes a decrease in entropy it likely won't happen spontaneously ( things going uphill, random metal pieces built themselves into a functioning machine).

Lastly, and the best part, is that the second law of thermodynamics predicts the end of all life. Since the entropy of universe always increases, eventually all potential energy will be used up, and energy will be evenly distributed across the universe, unable to push or pull in any one direction, canceling each other out. Since no energy will be available for use to do work, all life forms will die. This is called a 'heat death' because it mostly results from other energy forms being converted to thermal energy

I know this probably don't happen too often because there's 500 decks in each league and all that, but it did just happen to me. The deck I put in the arena just happened to be a perfect counter for my own deck, so I just quit. Lost 15 electrums and got 10 back. What would you do in this kind of situation? Win and get the 100ish electrum or lose and give your arena deck a free win?

General Discussion / Elements Finance
« on: October 29, 2011, 12:33:27 am »
I've been away from elements for a long time, but when I came back I had quite a bit of a pleasant surprise. I used to have the habit of letting rares pile up even though I don't need them. Now it seems like it paid off. Before I left, I had about 70 unupgraded shards piled up in my inventory, and they sold for about 3 electrums or something back then, not too different from a pillar. After whichever upgrade it was, they now sold for 149 electrums, that's a 4900% increase! I feel rich now.  :P

The Arena / Re: So what did you just take down from the Arena?
« on: October 19, 2011, 12:03:37 am »
hmm, I just came back to visit elements after an almost one year break. I see that lots have changed. This new top 500 thing is pretty interesting, especially how I started at level 62... Finally I get to basically make false gods in a moments notice and unleash them onto other innocent players. I am quite happy with this new feature. I'm glad I decided to came back. I've actually came up with an idea pretty similar to Essence's life/water duo on my own, don't know how well it works on other players, but I found it pretty tough to crack when I tested it, so I suspect it's might awesome.

p.s: greetings, anyone who still remembers me, if there are any.

Duo-Decks / Re: Life is full of hope

Dragon would probably further throw off the balance of this deck. It is true that most of the time you have much more quanta than you could use, but that generally only happens after you've used luciferase. However, before luciferase can be used the deck is quite fragile, a dragon would just be a dead card delaying the entire combo. Besides, most of the time 23 x 5 damage a turn is good enough.

Bye, vrt. Your fantastic artwork would make sure none of us will forget you any time soon. Come back and say hello sometimes. Another veteran left, I guess it's a new era now. Looking around, so many new faces that I do not know. I guess I am being left behind by time's ponderous footsteps. Enjoy life, real life is what we were born for, make the best of it.
