I've made my own variation on this deck, and so far it's worked well for me. I started with the "stock" CCYB deck, took inspiration from other people's variations (most notably CB!'s variation on page 30), and gave it my own twist. This is what I'm currently using.
MY DECK BUILD:6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6rn 6rn 6rn 6rn 6rn 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u7 6u7 71c 77f 77f 77i 7ai 7dq 7dq 7gp 7gp 7n3 7q5 7q5 80h 80h 80i
WHAT I CHANGED:+ 1 Aflatoxin: an addition made by many other players as well that's proved to be quite useful in this deck. Used to lock the opponent down.
+ 1 Protect Artifact: used to protect the Permafrost shield for FGs with perm control (e.g. Divine Glory).
+ 1 Improved Heal: simply to reach EM by healing in the last turn. Swapped out Miracle for this.
- 1 Improved Miracle: as I said, dropped this for Improved Heal.
- 1 Shard of Gratitude: 5 Shards is plenty; also slimming the deck down a bit.
- 1 Electrum Hourglass: more slimming down. Also, luring out perm control isn't so important anymore with PA in the deck, so I can afford to lose 1 Hourglass.
PERSONAL COMMENTS AND POSSIBLE CHANGES:I decided to get rid of Miracle in favor of Heal. Miracle wasn't doing much for me in terms of survival, and without Feral Bond it's pretty much useless to get EM as well. Heal won't let me survive much longer either, but it does let me reach that EM every now and again.
I tested the deck without FFQ (replaced her with an extra Destroyer), but the deck didn't seem to work quite as smoothly for me as it did before. Most notably I got walled by everything that uses Bone Wall. Ugh. So I put her back in, and all was well.
I've seen
Jade Shield being used succesfully by many people against Octane or other gods with perm control... I'm not sure whether adding it to my deck will really help it a lot or not. I can use a PA'd Permafrost which is obviously better than Jade shield; and in a way, there's not much difference between drawing for a PA because your Permafrost is useless without it, or drawing for a Jade shield because your Permafrost is useless... But on the other hand, a third shield in the deck might not be a bad idea. What does everyone think, should I use it? And if I do, should I just add it or swap something out for it? I'd say Heal would have to go in the latter case; otherwise I'd be a bit heavy on the Life quanta, plus I'm usually not that fussed about EM.
I'm hoping someone can help me with this.
Now, just for giggles, here's me pwning Divine Glory with my deck build:
Lol, a bunch of fireflies beat a formation of flying ghost swords. Swell.
Cheers!
