Rainbow Decks / Re: (1.24) CC? Why bother?
« on: July 02, 2011, 08:42:49 pm »This is the version of the CCYB deck I have been using with a good bit of success. It has significantly increased my win rates with FG such as dark matter and dream catcher and improved results against many of the other traditionally hard gods for CCYB (scorpio, hermes, graviton).
The key I believe is in the mind flayers..and these I use specifically unupped. At first I had problems with the upped versions, having them often delay the use of the perfafrost shield, but with a bit of thought you can avoid this problem. First, the 2 casting cost means one can be played as soon as you can play a supernova...and getting a flayer out early against many of the FG's mentioned above is crucial to your chances of winning. Secend, is don't play a flayer in situations where it isn't useful before you've played a shield...and playing against ferox is a good example of this. Often a quinted flayer can single handedly win a game.
Sanctuaries and PA have been talked about before, and I think they are needed to give you a chance of success against some of the harder false gods.
Silence..have added as i have found them handy in a variety of situations..can basically use them as a one turn quint or PA (except against activated abilities) which can often save you in bad situations...or to slow down a FG at the beggining of the game, and lastly to prevent that miracle being played at the end.
Purple nymph...lucky to have it, believe it is worth having over a third antimatter, especially in combo with flayers...( first make em plain, then make em work for you)
I look forward to any comments, especially as this is my first post in the elements forum. Thanks to Amilir for the deck idea, and Scaredgirl for providing the guides to help me get the dosh to build a deck like this quickly
