What about a trios only tournament? Simple, but it gives everyone a chance to use decks that are otherwise rarely used in competitive play.

If you ban nova and immolation, otherwise it will be like the last trio tournament again, Scrambled Shriekers with Flying Weapon and Damselflies stomped.

True.  Yeah, nova + immo bans would be imperative.

I think flying weapon needs to be banned too for a trio. Instead of nova you could simply toss say 4 pends in and 3 fog shields too. It's simply too cheap for what it does for a trio deck

How about this? You must change your mark every single game. Yes, that means you may need 12 different marks. And the decks have to change somewhat each round. Exception: If you have to play more than 12 rounds, you may repeat an mark once. So, if you played thirteen rounds, the first twelve would all be different marks, and then the thirteenth could be any mark any.

Was done before, with modified versions of the FG decks. And 2 FGs do use shards.

Light vs. Dark

Everyone must make two decks, one with a light mark and one with a Darkness mark.

At least half of the non-pillar/pendulum cards in the deck must match the mark and you are not allowed to use cards from the opposing mark. Nor cards that generate quanta of that type.

Two light decks cannot battle each other. Nor can two darkness decks. It is always light vs. dark.


Repetition Is Fun

No less than six of any non-pillar/pendulum card in your deck. And you may only have an even number of pillars and pendulums in your deck. You can only play two or more of a card at a time.

Upgraded cards do not count as the same thing as their un-upgraded counterparts. And different color pillars or pendulums are also considered different cards.

 Shards, and cards that cannot be successfully played twice are banned.

How about a MtG Tournament? You must have at least exactly 60, no more than 4 of any non-land (pillar/pendulum) OR any size deck, but only from colors that MtG has (Blue [Water], Red [Fire], Black [Darkness], White [Light], and Green [Life]), and no more than four copies of any card.

Occupy Movement: Elements Edition (unupped)

Before the tournament starts, choose "Rich" or "Poor"

"Rich" players can only use cards with a quanta cost of 4 or greater for the duration of the tournament
"Poor" players can only use cards with a quanta cost of 3 or less for the duration of the tournament.

Bans: All shards, Dim Shield, Nova, Discord, Immolation, Mindgate

Splash contest!

Everyone must use a mono + splash. But that by itself is boring. So restrict the size of the splash. Say, in the first round, you can splash up to 3 or 4 cards. Then, in the middle rounds, a medium splash, ~6 cards. And for the finalists, they must use a splash (a big splash) of 8 cards. Then add a card copy limit to keep things interesting. So, no copy limit for small splash, 3 or 4 limit for medium splash, and 2 or 3 limit for big splash.

Let me post my strange idea too!

Dual Personality {half-upped}
* Players play with 30 to 40 card decks.
* For each upped card in you deck an unupped copy of the same card must also exists and vice versa (including Pillars/Towers & Pendulums).
* Other cards are not allowed, including Shards and Quantum Pillars/Towers.

 In the above deck, every card appears at the same amount in both upped and unupped versions, it is within the 40-card limit and uses no Other cards, so it is legal.
