I had the same idea for long, figured the same effect. The lance (or any D) deck is easily loved by a deck with all 12 mirror shields in the game + the rest of the deck dedicated to countering Fahrenheit. But then it's 60 cards on 60 cards whoever decks first... real fun.

12 shields? 60 cards?  ???

The old-school lance deck simply employs a light-mark to use a mirror-shield itself and all that
countering goes to shreds ...

Dang, forgot about that. Unrelated, probably ask Zanz to rework it so you can't bypass mirror by running one yourself (probably just force self-targeted damage to go through instead of messing with the "number of bounces" again)... but you're right.

How about all that PLUS zero-power creatures? Threat of fractal pest should keep lances in check, should it? disregard that, swap one hell for another.

There must be a way to make something around "creatureless" workable...

Highlander: you must have only ONE upped creature in the deck. this creature is your deck general. all other cards in your deck must be of that color. you may have a shield of your color but the weapon can only be a short sword. no upped cards allowed in exeption of the highlander creature. (e.g: highlander creature is ruby dragon, then deck is mono fire)

Chosen one: you may have only one creature in the whole deck (e.g: otyughx6). you may have any and/or all elements in your deck. you must have (in exeption of the chosen creature) only spells and permanents but no weapons or shields. The chosen creature cannot make other creatures or permanents or spell the may get you or opponents creatures (e.g: Firefly queen, pharaoh, nightmare, parallel universe, mindgate,etc). no upped cards.

rofl. I support this, but with the addition of no cards that can do damage to creatures (soft counters like antimatter would still be allowed)

When is something a source of damage? What if you used Voodoo + Gravity Pull + Basilisk Blood (perfect against Photons)? It doesn't damage on it's own

Alechemy cards must be used (excluding Antimatter, because bleagh).
You must use at least 3 copies of that card, and no other alechemy cards.

This way you make a deck based on most of then, and swap them around to counter what you think your opponent will be playing.

(Maybe other alchemy cards should be excluded as well, but that depends on what the most likely decks are becoming. Rainbows are obviously discouraged because of BH, and there should be a way to avoid discord/BH)

I love that idea actually.  It is simple and will have tons of involvement.
