Alrighty everyone. Ready for my first competition?

Your goal? To create a pair of cards that are both synergistic, and work well one their own.

The award will be a custom symbol reflecting your choice in elements.

Some simple rules:

1. The card idea must be posted using one of the approved templates, which will be listed below.

2. The cards must be of opposing alignments. (For those of you who do not play the game, or may have forgotten, they are listed below.

 :air :earth
 :aether :time
 :entropy :gravity
 :death :life
 :water :fire
 :light :darkness

3. The cards must be viable for in game play, i.e. not OP.

4. Any art used should provide credit to the creator/owner.

5. The card idea must be posted in the Card Ideas (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/board,6.0.html) section, so that it may be commented on.




Use one of these three tool to build your card:

1. The ULTIMATE Photoshop CARD TEMPLATES v2.2.2 (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,891.msg9064.html#msg9064) (most complete but requires Photoshop and has a slight learning curve)

2. Browser based card builder (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,2632.msg24970.html#msg24970) (some bugs and missing quantum icons)

3. Elements Card Image Builder by Planplan (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,7251.msg86096.html#msg86096) (most "genuine" look but is still missing ability cost icons. Imported image has to be 256x256)

Well this looks fun. :D

Just one question: When you mean by "The cards must be of opposing alignments.", does that also mean that the card costs AND ability costs have to be from the opposite element? (I.e. - a :water card with an active skill that requires :fire quanta, and vice versa)

Can't wait to join this one!

No, just the cards themselves. Their cost to be played must be opposites, but their ability costs can be anything, but keep in mind playability.

Should add a timer to your Main post so everyone knows the endtime of the competition.

Also what is the Prize? Just an Icon or something Special?

Should probably tell everyone that the entry needs to be in the card ideas section, and to post a link and image inside this topic to the article detailing the Cards.

Need help with any of the Cards bit, let me know.

Posting a link to the card idea's thread will give a place for people to comment on the specific card instead of cluttering up the main  thread. (which I am doing right now)

Yes, if the card ideas are serious suggestions, it's always better to force people start topics in the Card Ideas section. Otherwise discussion becomes impossible, like assassim already explained.

I believe he's talking about just casting costs for cards, as in how much quanta is required to put them on the field. HWt athey do after that, is their ability cost, or upkeep.
I ask nothing of humanity but fairness in all things, but I do not expect even that.

Then I don't understand the question. There would be two cards. One costing ( :earth for example) and one costing ( :air in theory). Not one costing both.

Yeah, that's why I said "casting cost."
Sorry, I misunderstood the OP, thought we were designing one card that uses two opposite elements, not two separate cards.
