This will be a part of my submission to the Opposites Attract card designing contest, Zenith and Nadir. I do not have images yet, but I will have them tomorrow.

As required, the two cards submitted needs to be of opposing elements. They should both work well on their own, and should synergize with each other.

The ability cost of Nadir will be zero when Zenith (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,7869.0.html) is already in your weapon slot. Yes, Zenith (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,7869.0.html) will be replaced by Nadir, but its ability cost is zero instead of :darkness :darkness :darkness.
If this weapon is flown, it does not maintain the free ability cost.
In order for Nadir to acquire the free ability cost, it must replace Zenith (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,7869.0.html); therefore neither weapons have free ability cost if they're both flying.

Hmm good idea... A sound submission for the contest.


I suggest decreasing the cost to 4 :darkness. Vampire Dagger deals 6 damage and gives it back to you and only costs 2 :darkness

Maybe you can make the unupgraded version deal only 4 damage and cost 4 :darkness and the upgraded version does 5 damage and costs 4 :darkness

Nadir's ability is powerful creature control. I think decreasing its cost would be overpowered.

Well Owl's eye only costs 5, with a 1 :air ability that deals 3 damage.

I like both ideas. Both are simple, effective, and incredibly powerful if you pull off the combo. I'm not quite sure how/if the flying weapon would maintain the free ability cost, because the creature version of each weapon does not keep any buffs added to it before animated (i.e. Protect Artifact).

Zenith is the point directly above you, and Nadir is the point directly below you. That's the reason why I picked those names.

I fixed the original post. The free ability cost only works when Zenith is in your weapon slot, not flying. If this weapon is flown, it does not maintain the free ability cost. Okay, that's what I thought the intended effect was. Pretty cool cards if you ask me. It's nice to have some simple buff/debuff action. Not everything has to be complicated or have a huge epic effect. :)

I think both of the cards are a little OP, but that just might be me. It's a kill or a complete cripple of alot of cards, for free if pulled off properly, for relatively cheap even if it isn't, or a potentially free 'growth'.

Nadir is more expensive than Owl's Eye, and its damaging effect is less. Zenith's buffing effect is equivalent to Growth but three times more expensive, and it's not easy to pull off the free-cost combo.

How do you figure sports fan? You just need a light/darkness deck. You'd get it out fairly often.

Also, it might be more expensive, but it's not just the kill that you've got to look at, but you're also crippling their attack

Sure the 'growth' effect is three times more expensive, but it can be applied to any creature now.
