Card Design Competition:
Shard Madness!
Phase 2 has ended

Here are the current Shards:
You job is to design a new shard.

1. Pick a virtue from the list below. This virtue will determine the name of your shard idea. For example if you pick "compassion", your shard will be called "Shard of Compassion". Only one person may use a specific name, meaning that if you pick "compassion", others have to pick something else. It's your responsibility to make sure that the name hasn't already been taken. You should find my reply that says "list updated", and then look at all the replies AFTER that to see if your name has been taken or not.

2. Pick an image for your shard. To keep it fair, you may only use one of the 8 images below. You have to use these images exactly as they are. Any kind of image manipulation is prohibited! In other words you are not allowed to change colors, add something, etc.



3. Go to Design Tools (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/board,140.0.html) and pick one of the 3 official card image builder. Tip: if your shard doesn't have any abilities with a cost, it's highly recommended that you use Planplan's card image creator. When designing your card, try to come up with an idea that fits the name of the card.

4. Go to Card Ideas and Art (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/board,6.0.html) section and start a new topic. Read this (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,5039.0.html) before posting. Your card image has to meet the requirements mentioned in the previous link! If it doesn't, it won't be included in the final vote so please double-check that everything is ok. For example if your idea uses abilities with a cost, you have to include those elemental icons in the image. Simply typing something as text won't cut it.

5. Reply to this topic with an image of the upgraded version of your shard idea. Also include a link to your card idea topic. If one of those two is missing, you will be disqualified. All discussions about specific card ideas should be done on the dedicated topics of those ideas. This topic is only for submitting ideas or general discussion about this competition.



This competition runs for 14 days. After that we will have a vote to see which new shard idea is the best. As always, the winner will receive a cool award icon. Also a card idea series topic will be made using the top-12 most voted ideas.

Side Note: Is there a reason why 'Gratitude' and 'Readiness' are on the list of selected words, when we already have shards named after those virtues? Just a little curious - I think you should remove them.

but can I just tune the color of the image to make it match the theme better?
For example I would like to make some ability that relate to light or darkness, the color provided seem not match.

I added 4 more images. If you cannot find a perfect image from those 8, it's not a big deal. This competition is more about the idea, then about what color or contrast your shard is.

Wow I think that black Shard art (shard 7) will see a lot of use, it's pretty awesome!!

Too bad I posted this before I had time to see all 8. I still think that the one I chose suits flexibility best.

After being targeted by this spell, the creature can use its skill again although it has used its skill in the same turn.
The creature will gain the light surrounding the card which is the state that it can use the activate skill.
Also it can use to target creatures come into play this turn and make them able to use skill.
