If they have creatures that would deal enough damage to heal you to cover for the loss of health, then wouldn't you be close to death, and what are your chances of turning things around in those two turns?

To make this worthwhile they merely need 13|11 attack on the field. You could easily have more than 70hp when that occurs. At that point it prevents enough damage to be worth the nonexistant cost (hp cost was lumped into calculating damage prevented).

If they are doing 24|20 damage per turn then SoSac prevents all damage for 2 turns. (compare to Dimensional Shield) One could easily have the ~50hp needed at this point if the opponent was foolish enough to play 24|20 damage per turn against a SoSac wielding deck.

One should never expect a human to play more than 24|20 damage per turn against a SoSac wielding deck unless baited.

Not much change to the decks that used SoSac honestly (Monolight will go death mark, novae pay for it in pillarless SPlat, poison dials works fine) - the only big difference I can think of will be that Rember SPlat will no longer function.  I like that it won't be such a mulligan-killer.

Certainly a nerf. I would have preferred seeing an elemental reward rather than elemental punishment. I was envisioning perhaps removing less hp if one's mark was :death or something.

Actually, I think even 1 :death is a significant nerf. SoSac will now be susceptable to quanta denial. The old SoSac could completely nullify the enemy's overwhelming advantage for 2 turns, pretty much no matter what. Now, if the enemy has destroyed all of your :death quanta sources or devoured them, then you are dead. So devourers, black hole, and discord, etc. all become possible counters to SoSac.

Especially considering that Purify straight-up hard counters this card and then some, I agree that even increasing the cost by one is a bit much.  But the problem is that even then, I don't think that this card deserves to be played for free and splashed in just about any deck that exists.  Lower the HP requirement perhaps?  Or maybe just remove the Purify negation factor; I've never been a fan of that mechanic anyways.

I still think that reducing max HP instead of current HP works better.
1. It allows for 12 SoSa in Arena without much abuse. Right now, the 6 SoSa restriction feels forced.
2. You sacrifice a life force, which is not supposed to be regainable. Work on your skin or divinity for that.
3. No more redunculously-high-max-HP EM with one of these.

I don't really like this change. It is still powerful for mono death. poison+sosac is still horrible, only 1 :death is also cheap.

But it do kill many deck without death. it need  :death, and drain all mana but  :death. It means sosac will only work in death deck.

Definitely not, with a 1 :death cost is even more playable in many decks since it won't screw the mulligan letting the player develop the offensive combo in peace and then splash 2 or 3 when it's just question of staying alive while the opponent die due to the damage already putted out.
I personally did more than 3 decks in the trainer that use this strategy.
