Yeah that's just the best upped death critter. Kinda useless. lol.
I'm okay to say that his capacity isn't very used but some deck can use it very well.
I fully disagree with you.

This is the "Mono" :death which I am using as of now. You can use the spider's ability 'Web' to bind a flying creature to the bound (they lose their innate ability 'Airbourne') which renders them unable to pass the :air shield 'Wings' and does not proc Shard of Freedom anymore. In most situations, it is useless. The deck's really fast (sometimes has a TTW of 5).

however, a flesh spider deck would include wings or fractals. fractaling spiders provides a mass army that beats decks with just some cc. wings/spiders deck is built around using spiders to make all opponents creatures lose airborne -- however it still falls prey to OTKs and momentum -- and is often meant to stall until opponent decks out.

Weak against rush decks that use alot of flying creatures. In most cases your spiders can web a handful of flying creatures quickly enough to stop the damage. In a scenario where opponent has no PC you can have Wings up for the entire duel.

Also not great against Poison decks, Momentum creatures, Psion & SoW. Because of the number of ways to counter it, it's not a solid strategy by itself. It's fairly strong strategy against lots of decks (e.g. Adrenaline Frogs or Graboids & Shreikers) but, it's consistency is hit and miss.
