mhm.. decreasing the total hp will not affect the single use but will reduce the amount of times you can use it, since the more you use it the less life you have
I think it can be more interesting than being damaged of 40-50 hp for mechanic it will have

i like the idea, but.. can i ask a question?
what if the damage suffered when near 0 is something like.. 30 or more (because it's possible..)?
Dove become -32 or more? so.. if you don't have a spell.. how can you kill it? blessing will be useless... and damaging or attacking with creatures will only make it stronger and stronger..
maybe i'm wrong.. but i think it should be fixed

The major difference between the two is that your idea doesn't introduce an 'immortal-removal' mechanic to prevent exploitation with cards like Fractal, Bone Wall, Vulture, and Graveyard. :)
:o i supposed it happened because i forgot fractal  :)) >.<
if i consider fractal.. well.. i easily understand why the other card introduce the 'immortal-removal' mechanic :P
should i consider it another mistake?  :))
i the end my card is a mix of these two.. for now!! >.<
someone else make something similar?  ::)

P.S. - you drew that art? O.o Very nice!

I don't think you should. I don't really like that card, but I do like this one. I can't speak for the whole community, so why don't you let it have some more time.
I can do it, but the other one have synergy with light, so, looking how much importance are given to synergy in this game, i think this one will be soon forgotten ^^
however the topic will remain into "card ideas and art" section.. so.. I can simply wait and see what will happen.

well.. let's put an example.. the opponent have a fire buckler and your creature is about to die and he have a strong creatures on his side of the field..
or simply to kill a strong creature (a creature that you cannot kill, as an example because in this turn you can't deal to that creature enought damage to kill it) killing a weak one instead
example.. you have a fire bolt or a drain life or some kind of attacking spell and enought quanta to cast it, but target creature will survive with1-2 hp
i think, if you have creatures, that can be more useful to kill one of these creatures in order to destroy that enemy creature (firefly queen or pharaon) instead of having your creature on the field (devourer).. well..

the example why this is can be OP.. put a photon, this card and immolation.. you can defeat a flying titan
but in fact this card would bound you to have something to sacrifice. i think this is the interesting part
so.. if you don't have a creature.. well.. this card is useless
