Doldrums should just be in the game already. Try an unupped mono air. Tempest Faerie was pretty creative.
As for Sylph, I've put in a lot of work into her. She's balanced, dynamic, creative and a signature avatar of Air. <3

I disagree about Doldrums, and Nightfall-mimicking cards on principle... in fact I am reluctant to support any card idea which recycles current game mechanics directly (though perhaps some of my cards do?  I'd have to look, haha).

Although Doldrums may recycle in-game mechanics, the niche it's in presents more of a balancing factor to an element which struggles quite a bit in the unupgraded environment. It compliments Sky Blitz, and thus Dive, and gives Air more of an offensive flavour to it, something which through the current card pool is hinted at but not yet said.

The thing is, "Zanz knows best." If he believes the meta-game needs to be balanced, he can rehash a mechanic himself.
IMHO, I think the armory should be filled with cards that have interesting and new concepts or mechanics, not the most balanced cards or the cards that complement the meta-game the best.
