IDEA:
Submachine
NOTES:
The Last member of the Tank Guild.
Disintegrate deals 3 damage to the target creature and gets equal amount of quanta  from the target creature's element.
If a 2 HP creature is killed with Disintegrate, the user gains only 2 quanta.
It's difficult to carry out, but if there're enough mortal aether creatures on the field, the ability can feed itself.
Airborne creatures suffer extra damage from disintegration and the user also gain that extra quanta out of that attack.
Renewable CC nerfed by high card cost.
Synergy with Mindgate.

I think the :water damage is a bit elemental hate. Airborne damage is fine, take out the :water.

@skyironsword: nah, it makes sense. It's electricity, and water conducts electricity, so. I really like the idea, Submachine, but is the skill balanced? Seems a tiny bit OP to me since it refunds quanta spent. Maybe change it to cost 2 :aether and no refund? Also, what can the skill target? A single enemy creature? Multiple creatures? Enemy HP?

I believe the skill can target 1 creature. If I would use this, BB-Psion for quanta gain :)

D2D is right. :) It can target a single creature, but it is also written down in the Notes.
Jrsjohnny is also right about the mechanics with water.
However, as you can notice it from the card's high cost, I also found it OP at first, that's why it's here to improve.

Just because it makes sense doesn't mean it should be used. How about we make Explosion instant kill the opponent? It blows them to pieces. Makes sense.

Point taken. But instead of completely wiping out the water concept, wouldn't it be good if it would only do +1 additional damage instead of 3?

Probably more balanced that way. There's a lot of airborne cards, and I think gaining back more quanta than you're spending is probably a little overpowered when you gain 3 quanta for dealing three damage. Compare to owl's eye.

Actually, I don't get why it's has additional damage at  :water creatures. Electricity doesn't hurt water, water just leads the electric power. And it's a bit weird, if the damage doubles on a Steam machine and works normally on a Steel golem.

^Agreed. If you have elements that are hurt more by the skill because of theme there should also be elements that are resistant. (i.e. Earth) Makes it kind of complicated.

Nope? Well, the body of bionic creatures is made up by 50<%<100 water (human body is at ~90%), the water inside conducts electricity to the non-water parts of the body, and that hurts. Electricity can even be lethal.
But that's totally off the point.

I have 2 options to solve this problem and since polls are dead, I list them here.
  • Add :earth a resistance to disintegration
  • Remove the additional damage to :water
For secret reasons, I put my vote on the remove :water option, but this is a poll, so I encourage everyone to vote.
