NOTES:
The 'other' version of Pendulums. Now I get the reason why Zanz, at leaast up until now, did not make this card.
1. The upgraded card's text doesn't fit the text area <_<
2. It's really hard to balance.

Only while writing this I realized that this card has much lower average quanta generation rate of 2 than Quantum pillar with 3. How should it be balanced?

Is it not already balanced?

Quantum Pillars produce 3 random/turn [1/4 a quanta to each]
Normal Pendulums produce alternating quanta (1/turn)/2 and (1/turn)/2 = 1/turn

A quantum pendulum would be more focused than a quantum pillar and thus should produce less
A quantum pendulum would be less focused than a normal pendulum and thus should produce more

3>X>1
X=2

A quantum pendulum should produce an average of 2 quanta per turn.

Do we need a quantum pendulum, why not set up a poll?

I heard talk about this kind of thing possibly being made but being rare. It's an interesting concept.

I like the idea myself and can see where it being a rare is not a bad idea given any quanta tower that guarantees me a quanta of my mark every turn is pretty powerful. Generating two random in place of three might be a safer way of going as it would tip Rainbow decks further into the more powerful spectrum.

The thing is it doesn't guarantee a quanta of your mark on the turns where it gives 3 random quanta.
(random quanta is random)

its a really good idea, but i dont know if it is interesting enough to get through the voting process as it is currently set up.  seems like something that should have been added to the game last patch.

My idea would be.

Alternatively generates 3 random quanta and 2 quantum matching your mark.

and

Alternatively generates 3 random quanta and 2 quantum matching your mark. Gain 3 extra quanta when you play this card.

That give it an average quanta generation rate of 2.5 instead of 2 of the current way. Also instead of the 3 of the Quantum Towers but it also gives more of your mark to make up for that loss.

@dramore: I think that would cause people to use normal pillars much less often because the only downside is that they get the quanta all at once instead of a little each turn.

i'm think 3 random and 1 as mark is already good

3 random quanta is look like quantum tower   and why don't it's imbalance if you make pendulum by use that way?

It seems balanced, but is it desirable?

It seems to me that the purpose of the pendulums was to push people more toward decks of fewer elements, rather than using most or all element rainbow decks, and it feels, at least to me, that it was a good step in that direction.

Adding a pendulum like this would, of course, produce much more of the quanta of a person's mark, but it would still be producing quanta for rainbows, not more concentrated decks.

If this was, indeed, the reason pendulums were introduced, I would have to say this is a bad idea.

That being said, I don't think its a reason to try to shoot down a balanced idea, since, if that were to be the case, it would just never be added to the game.
