Immaterial and Immortal creatures or permanents cannot be targeted by either player, except with Shard of Wisdom, and are not damaged by spells or abilities. Immaterial and Immortal creatures are however affected by shields such as Ice Shield (Freeze), Fire Shield (Damage), Thorn Carapace (Poison), Procrastination (Time Delay).
The only perceivable difference between Immortal and Immaterial creatures is that creatures can be granted Immortality while creatures enter the field immaterial.
Using Flying Weapon on immaterial Morning Star | Morning Glory results in an immaterial monster. However, any other weapon that became indestructible by Enchant/Protect Artifact does not become immortal once flown.
