Independents haven't won the presidency.  The media wants as many viewers as possible.  The independents aren't really a major party, so appealing to them wouldn't be as profitable as trying to win over Democrats or Republicans.

3. Who is the equivalent of Roger Ailes on a liberal network? The man is a political operative, in the same mold as Rove and Atwater. There is documented evidence of top-down control, not just of commentary, but of news coverage.

Mort Zuckerman, publishing/real estate billionaire, former owner of the Atlantic Monthly, current owner/publisher of New York Daily News and editor-in-chief of US News and World Report.  Appears regularly on MSNBC.  Even writes speeches for President Obama (http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2010/07/12/mort_zuckerman_admits_he_wrote_one_of_obamas_speeches.html).

Not sure if he's equivalent, but it's probably close enough.

There is a key difference that I feel needs to be pointed out. Republicans are bougt off by big business, democrats are afraid of republican and big business bullying. Republicans are essentially maniacal bullies with a lot of cash and power to do so, democrats have some decent centrist ideas but have no will to put them into practice out of fear of bullying. At the core of the problem is lobbyists. If republicans didn't have incentive to back big business they probably wouldn't.

I read page one and then skipped to page 4. I am glad I saw no Nazi talk on this page, I mean honestly it did not even take one page for that to start?
Anyways I don't like to make anyone out to be a demon besides Glenn beck and a few others whom in my opinion deserve it. The right want small government and the left want large government, and on that you can call no side "evil", but when you get to votes and stuff it is kindof easy to see that republicans in office vote for terrible things due to the fact that they have been paid off. ( I think that paying off a person of elected office to do something should be illegal. )
I do however believe that just because you are a greedy little { add insult here } you are not evil, just a terrible person. It happens on both sides I believe. After the last few elections I have given up 100% on the republican party, and I swore to never vote for them again, now I am not a democrat, I am an indepent that believe's in not joining a party and that you should decide your own political positions on your own!

Do you believe the Left isn't bought off by Unions??  Both sides play the same game, their money just comes from different interests.  Solution here is to limit the power of both sides, reduced government.  Right now the Average Federal Worker is making 75K a year, Average private citizen is making 50k a year hmm seems to me that the private sector is working for the government not the other way around which it should be.

So if you were rich would that make you a greedy little expletive?  Understand you can't help anyone if you are broke, but you can help many if you're rich.  Which happens everyday, rich people help build hospitals is one major example.  Class envy is not a valid cause to trash on successful individuals.

You live in America wrong country to be a socialist in?  Also if socialism is so great then why has it failed and is failing across the globe?  You think Greece is doing well?  How's that socialism in France doing with riots in the street for raising there retirement age?  How's that Socialism in England doing with riots over the raised costs of Education?
