Decay will fractal rays of light before devourers. This means he won't even drain your quanta. Some healing, PC, or CC to deal with lobotomizer, eclipse, and whatever devourers he does play will allow an easy win. The only problem is when Decay starts with a bunch of drain lifes and kills your RoLs before he can fractal them. The nightmare card fixes this.

That is very true, the Nightmare card wasn't out when I posted that deck. It would be very effective against Decay.

If you want to build a deck and post it, I'll test it and put it in the first post.

I haven't tested it, but I'm pretty sure it would work. It decks Decay out, though very slowly, as once his board and hand are all filled up, he will draw one card per turn for the rest of the game.

Play RoL when he has over 8 aether quanta or when you have nightmare. He should start filling his board with them - help by using nightmare whenever you draw it. Mirror shield stops damage and drain lifes, holy flash kills any devourers and guarantees mastery. Hourglasses are mainly to protect Eternity from being stolen, but can speed up card draw if necessary. Finally, bounce a RoL and wait for the deck-out.

Edit: Add two SoGs to heal lobotomizer damage.

A different design could probably use the same RoL/nightmare strategy, but with enough damage to kill. I went for simplicity.

The only problem is that he could easily steal your eternity, and it is higher in target priority than hourglasses now. If you added 1 nova+PA, it would probably fix that.

Oh...that's convenient ._.

I see three solutions.

1. Nova+PA, as you said. Problems. Two extra cards to slow down the deck, two extra chances that one of them will be the bottom card. Nova would help with random quanta draining from devourers and shards though.

2. Replace three hourglasses with eternities and the last one with a time tower, then start rewinding as soon as you have three towers down. If he steals an eternity, play another one and keep going, holding back a bit when you need a holy flash. He only has four steals, so one eternity will be safe. Unless the last eternity is the bottom card and he draws all four steals before then, there shouldn't be a problem. Just keep one RoL in hand at all times, playing it only if you can rewind it in the same turn.

3. Use the same deck, but don't play eternity until three hourglasses have been stolen. Maybe even let him steal a time tower or two before playing hourglasses, so he can use them to deck himself out faster when he doesn't discard. Two eternities should allow for some leeway if you start rewinding before you're down to the last card.

Edit: Tested the third strategy.

Easy EM. He did start rewinding the RoLs at the end, but one tower wasn't enough to keep him going. I never used an hourglass.

I just tried a similar strategy.
(RoL + nighmares + emerald shield)

IA didn't played the nightmared RoL's I gave it.

He just stole my SoGs and killed me with a few pests+lobo.

Don't you think it would be able to kill you slowly if he stole your two SoGs ?

Steal targeting priority: Hourglass > SoG

Unless you get a terrible draw with no RoLs, Mirror Shield, and Hourglasses in the first a lot of cards while Decay manages to get a field of Devourers with eclipse, dying shouldn't really happen...

And sadly, my run with the deck happened exactly this way.  Got a devourer or two when I put down my ROL, he zapped it with drain life, and I never got the chance for my shield, let alone nightmare, since he fractaled his devourers, and I just watched the rest of the game.

Just EM'd Decay with a 30-card version of the first deck, using novas, Towers and some ups, and won a Siphon Life. Nice one.

Can you post the exact deck you used? I'd be interested to see the number of novas and towers you used. Also, was Decay able to Fractal his Pests quickly, or did he have a slow start?
