Please vote for the best new passive ability idea. Card idea only clarifies the new passive ability idea, it's not meant to be the sole reason for your vote.

Thanks.

1
New ability: Scorpio: Creatures with scorpio are scorpion-like.
New card: Scorpion Hole

Link: http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,9479.new.html#new

Cards with Scorpio: Death-Stalker, Dune Scorpion, Forest Scorpion, Flesh Spider, Phase Recluse.

2
New Passive Ability: Water-Proof

Card:

Water-Proof cards are all nuetral/water cards. Maybe a few others could become this type, who knows? :)

This would change 'Flooding' to kill all non-water-proof instead of that long boring thing it is now :)
I like shorter descriptions, so I made an ability that fit
:water ~Flooding~ :water

As with my new card
:water ~Hydration~ :water

Its a big wet orogy synergy of love! (;D)

3
New Passive Ability: Free-Willed
Effect: The creature has a strong sense of will-power and intellect, being able to stay true to its owner (i.e. - not easily manipulated and is loyal). Note that this mainly affects humanoid creatures.

New Card: (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,9943.new.html#new)

Creatures with this Passive Ability (All nymphs and major dragons (EXCEPT Leaf Dragon/Rustler) included):
 :aether - Immortal

 :darkness - Gargoyle
 :death - None
 :earth - Gnome Rider
 :entropy - Fallen Druid
 :fire - None.
:gravity - Graviton Mercenary, Graviton Fire Eater
 :life - None.
 :light - Guardian Angel
 :time - Pharaoh, Anubis

4
New passive ability:  Dexterous - upright creatures with hands able to use weapons.

:water Mind Flayer, Steam Machine, Nymph
 :light Guardian Angel, Nymph
 :air Nymph
 :time Anubis, Pharaoh, Nymph
 :darkness Gargoyle, Nymph
 :aether Nymph

Why not Gnome Rider?  Too small.
Why not Lava Golem?  The weapon would disintegrate.
Why not Firefly Queen?  Too small or too busy propagating.
Why not Immortal?  Impossible to give weapon to.

5
Humanoid.

Humanoids generally stand upright, have sensory organs on their heads, and most importantly have arms capable of grasping and using objects, whether it's with fingers and hands or with dextrous tentacles.

Spiritism creatures are those non-living animals, but can move around and attack you!
they have spirit inside so they can do so.
the spirit can easily back to life by hosting on another objects or in their original spirit forms,
while living animals cannot resurrect because their bodies are destroyed

Well, I was thinking about my quanta related spells series (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,9401.0.html), when this competition came up.
I wasn't satisfied with the light spell yet, so I started thinking about a combination between that spell and this competition.

Hereby I present:

Intuition
Creatures with intuition do not rely completely on their eyes when locating their opponent during an attack, they will mostly be small creatures with rely on their instinct instead of their mind.
This results in a bonus when fighting against spells or shields that reduce their chance to hit.
When fighting against a dusk mantle or fog shield, they will have a 10% higher chance to hit (so 30% change to miss with fog, and 40% chance to miss with dusk).

They also recover faster from blinding:

Blind the target creature for N, will mean it will get N blinding counters. For each counter the creature will have a 10% change to miss, which stacks with itself, dusk mantle and/or fog shield.
One counter is removed each turn, but for creatures with intuition, that will be 2.

Creatures with intuition will be (and their upgraded versions):
 :aether: Spark, Phase Spider
 :air: Dragonfly, Firefly
 :darkness: Parasite, Minor Vampire
 :death: Virus, Flesh Spider, Deathstalker
 :earth: Gnome Rider, Graboid
 :entropy: Lycanthrope, Abomination
 :fire: Ash Eater, Fire Spirit
:gravity: Graviton Mercenary, Graviton Fire Eater
:life: Rustler, Horned Frog, Forest Scorpion
 :light: Photon, Pegasus
:time: Deja Vu, Scarab, Dune Scorpion
 :water: Chrysoara, Blue Crawler, Toadfish

I tried to spread the creatures with intuition equally around the elements, and for each element around 50% of the creatures will have intuition.

8
Passive Ability : Regeneration

Regeneration: If it’s health is not full, the creature automatically gains +0/+1 every turn, until it’s health is full.
(Regeneration is cumulative)
(If it's considered OP because with this Fire Shield/Fire Buckler would be useless, it can be regenered every 2 turns)

Existing Creatures that can Regenerate:

 :darkness Minor Vampire, Vampire,
 :entropy Lycanthrope, Werewolf.
 :life Forest Spirit, Forest Spectre,
:fire Fire Spirit, Fire Spectre, Lava Golem, Lava Destroyer,
 :earth Hematite Golem, Steel Golem

9
Passive Ability: Unstable

Creatures Affected: Abomination, Malignant Cell, and any mutated creatures.

Reasoning: These creatures are all associated with mutation. Due to the number of mutations these creatures have undergone, they are left in an 'unstable' genetic state prone to further changes or even outright death. Please note: 'Unstable' by itself does not do anything, just like 'Airborne' does nothing.

Associated Card:
http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,9633.0.html

10
New Ability: Fade. A creature with fade has 50% possibility to avoid damage/devouring

Edit: as suggested by Plastique, Fade can be modified like: 50% possibility to avoid damage/devouring and ignore shields effect

Cards:

Topic: http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,9639.msg122981.html#new (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,9639.msg122981.html#new)

Invisible creatures:

Photon, Spark, Virus, Gnome rider, Rustler, Ash Eater, Dragonfly, Parasite.

11
Insectoid

Insectoids are species nothing like common animals. They are living creatures with six or more legs, or no legs at all. They may have several eyes, perhaps wings or carapace. Life elementals can use the card 'Metamorphosis' to turn these Insectoid creatures into a Chrysalises or a Cocoons, where the creature develops into a more powerful being.

The following creatures are Insectoids.
:aether Phase Spider/Recluse
:air Dragonfly/Damselfly, Firefly Queen/Elite Queen, Firefly/Elite Firefly
:darkness Devourer/Pest, Parasite/Bloodsucker
:death Flesh Spider/Recluse, Deathstalker
:earth Graboid/Elite Graboid
:entropy none
:fire ash eater/brimstone eater
:gravity none
:life Forest Scorpion/Scorpion
:light none
:time Dune Scorpion

Here's mine: METAL. *cue music*

See the threads for more details :)

13
New passive ability: Volatile

Creatures with volatile are ordinarily normal creatures. When their structural integrity is broken by a mutation however, they begin mutating rapidly - at the end of every turn - until they become an abomination or die.

The creatures with volatile are:
  • :aether Spark/Ball Lightning
  • :entropy Maxwell's Demon/Maxwell's Demon, Fallen Elf (not druid)
  • :light Photon (not RoL)
  • :time Deja Vu/Elite Deja Vu*
*alternatively, the use of the ability deja vu is what grants the volatile status - including normal mutants

The list is intentionally sparse, so that mutation remains useful while still providing strategic opportunities for the use of the ability.

Stabilising Field turns this ability (which is ordinarily a disadvantage, because of the potential for death or becoming an abomination) into a force to be reckoned with. The mutation that takes place at the end of every turn no longer changes the creature's form, so the creature just changes abilities and gains (or not - if it's too powerful, stat gain would be removed and the costs reduced by 4 :aether for both cards, but do remember that the starting creatures are all weak) attack and health every turn (like when you use parallel universe on a mutant).

There are a few more details in the other thread.

14
Passive Ability - "Undead"

Eternal Servitude| Eternal Servitude

"Undead"
Undead is a trait noting a creature as having an undead quality.
Undead creatures do not trigger graveyards or like abilities.

Creatures in the game that would be Undead
Bone Dragon
Ivory Dragon
Skeleton
Elite Skeleton
Mummy
Elite Mummy
Minor Vampire
Vampire

Original Thread: http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,9770.0.html

Copy and Pasta:

This card is made for the Card Using a New Passive Ability Competition. It relies on a new passive ability, "Magician."

Cards that have this ability:

:entropy: Maxwell's Demon, Fallen Elf, Purple Nymph, and their upgraded forms.
:death: Grey Nymph and her upgraded form.
:gravity: Graviton Fire Eater, Amber Nymph, and their upgraded forms.
:earth: Auburn Numph and her upgraded form.
:life: Forest Spirit, Green Nymph, and their upgraded forms.
:fire: Fire Spirit, Phoenix, Red Nymph, and their upgraded forms.
:water: Mind Flayer, Nymph Queen, and their upgraded forms.
:light: White Nymph and her upgraded form.
:air: Blue Nymph and her upgraded form.
:time: Deja Vu, Anubis, Goldem Nymph, and their upgraded forms.
:darkness: Gargoyle (Stone form removes Magician), Black Nymph, and their upgraded forms.
:aether: Immortal, Turqouise Nymph, and their upgraded forms.

I can see Entropy monos and Entropy/Water duos using this card.

17
Passive ability: Wounded
all creatures have this below max health

18
Passive Ability: Agility
Creatures with Agility move to an adjacent empty creature slot (if available) at the end of every enemy's turn. If targeted by the enemy, there is a 25% change the targeting will miss and the creature will change slots.

Edit: I think that the ability should be lost when web is played. It makes logical sense and it would make web have even more of a use.

This list is open to some changes. I was trying to pick smaller, quicker creatures (thus no dragons) but I had trouble deciding on some, particularly the humanoids like graviton mercer, mind flayer etc. Let me know if you have suggestions for the list

Creatures with Agility
ENTROPY: [/color][/b]
Maxwell's Demon, Lycanthrope, Fallen Elf (all upgraded versions of these)
DEATH:
Virus, Flesh Spider, Vulture, Deathstalker (all upgraded versions of these)
GRAVITY:
Saphire Charger / Elite Charger
EARTH:
Antilion, Graboid, Shrieker (only if unburrowed); Gnome Rider (all upgraded version of these)
LIFE:
Horned Frog, Cockatrice, Forest Scorpion (all upgraded versions of these)
FIRE:
Ash Eater, Phoenix (all upgraded versions of these)
WATER:
Chrysaora[not sure if this creature should qualify or not], Blue Crawler, Toadfish, Arctic Octopus (all upgraded versions of these)
LIGHT:
Photon, Pegasus, Guardian Angel
AIR:
Dragonfly, Wyrm, Firefly (all upgraded versions of these)
TIME:
Deja Vu, Scarab, Dune Scorpion (all upgraded versions of these)
DARKNESS:
Parasite, Minor Vampire (all upgraded versions of these)
AETHER:
Spark, Phase Spider (all upgraded versions of these)
New Card: Caltrops

19
Dazzle:
Light producing creatures have 50% to be not hit by damaging spell / effects at the cost of   :light
Fire producing creatures have 50% to be not hit by damaging spell / effects at the cost of   :fire

http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,9659.0.html (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,9659.0.html)

This card is intended to be used in combo with Luciferin, and not with RoL/Hope decks. (even if saving a RoL could be good).

The creatures who have this without using Dazzling Production are:
:air Firefly and Elite Firefly
 :light   Ray of Light
 :fire       Brimstone Eater
Gnome Rider, Damselfly, Rustler, Leaf dragon, Devourer and Pest don't have this because they don't produce Light/Fire.

Damaging spells/effects are:

:aether : Lobotomizer - Lightning
:air : Thunderstorm - Shockwave - Sniper
-   :darkness : Drain Life - Liquid Shadow (yeah) - Infection
:death : Retrovirus - Plague - Aflatoxin
:earth : Basilisk's Blood
- :entropy : Chaos Seed - Antimatter - Pandemonium
:fire : Rage potion - Fire Bolt - Rain of Fire - Fire Buckler
:gravity : Gravity Pull - Devour
:life : Thorn Carapace's poison
:light : NONE!
-   :time : Reverse Time, Procrastination, Scarab's Devour, Eternity
:water : Mind Flayer's Lobotomize, Ice Bolt, Permafrost Shield, Freeze

Why does the card only affect light producing creatures?

Because the only card able to make creatures shine is Luciferin/Luciferase.

The Formatting on 14 is somewhat damaged.
Maybe is should be noted that the "Passive Ability" is what they are voting for and not the card, just incase an incorrect inference is made.

So I am curious why some submissions did not make it? I thought maybe it was just mine because I somehow didn't follow the rules but to my knowledge I did. Other submissions are missing as well.

some people misunderstood the competition.

for example, someone put up a 'passive' ability similar to scavanger or bioluminescence... i guess they can be called 'passive' abilities since the abilities work without any triggering, but that wasn't the point of the competition.

I removed a couple of submissions because there was no topic started in the "Card Ideas and Art" section, which was one of the main requirements for this competition.
