AETHER HAS WON THE WAR....BUT WHO WILL WIN THE BRAWL? It took Aether 12 rounds to finish off Air. Brawl promises to be a different story, with 6 teams and no Aether to be seen. |

War: Rounds 10, 11, and 12 - In Round 10, Time and Entropy were eliminated. Air survived to see Round 11 by winning one of their battles against Aether.
- In Round 11, Aether and Air approached the battlefield with optimism. Both Generals fielded decks that would prevail over their opponent. Unfortunately for Air, this left them one loss away from complete elimination.
- In the final round, Round 12, the two Generals, deuce22 and kev collided with their two eerily, similarly-colored elements. In the end, the Unstable Gas deck that Air brought would not defeat the very powerful Parallel DragonBow deck that Aether packed with them. Aether, who had almost completely dominated the War from some people's perspectives, finished the job and won the 6th Elements War.
- Quote of the War: "Down with Aether, rise with lesbians." - RavingRabbid, Lt. of Entropy
| - That's right, Forum Brawl #2 has just begun, led by the Brawlmasters Naesala and Chapuz. They started this off with the formal introduction of Brawl #2.
- After a lavish posting of the rules, the hiring of Bosses commenced.
- It was determined that there would be 6 teams. These teams are, Team Darkness, Team Entropy, Team Fire, Team Light, Team Time, and Team Water. The bosses of these teams then bidded on forum members from the Brawl Auction.
- After all this is said and done, these 6 teams are ready to take on Round 1, where the first tasks begin. In accordance with bidding policy, the standings state that Darkness is in first, bidding the least amount of points, and Time is in last, for bidding the most. (Aether also bid the most during War, and they won.)

- Warrior's Preparation is in its final stage! Of the 12 original elemental teams,
(Kakerlake and RavingRabbid) and (AnnaMall and Shantu) remain. Pick a side, grab some popcorn, and watch the intense finale! - The Lost Temple has rolled along to Round 12. Of the original 26 fighters, only 6 remain. Each of these warriors, Onizuka, Regyptic, Calindu, majofa, mrpaper, and Marsu, have earned a position as a great PvP competitor. Stay tuned, because the boulder/bullder/thing is accelerating, and is ready to take 5 more with it.
- Dog Pit still has 8 dogs and is in Round 5. The action is starting to heat up, so be sure to keep track of it!
- PvP World Championship only has its Top 8 remaining. The matchups are as follows: RootRanger vs. Jen-i, dragonsdemesne vs. Calindu, Odii Odsen vs. majofa, and 10 men vs. RavingRabbid. These hardened PvP veterans must complete these matches with Top 8 - finished.
- Budokan is in its first stage: "For Honor." It is currently within the 4th Round of this stage. The first stage consists of 3 teams, of 12 members each, battling each other. The worthy 12 will move on to the final round where they battle for supremacy. 6 people already looking to lock up spots in the final round, so they have a chance to be the ultimate champion!
- Booster Draft is back and better than ever! Read the rules and sign-up today!
| - Battle League is all over. The current standings display Marsu with a 1st place finish, after running away in the final month. The man who occupies 2nd place is dragonsdemesne, who held the top spot coming into the month, but is no longer holding it. Vangelios, the last Battle League winner, is in 3rd place. Keep in mind the standings are not complete yet.
- Championship League has also been completed. The displayed leader, with a large lead, is blarp. The lead achieved by blarp is stained by his manipulation of newbies in chat to battle him. RavingRabbid has laid claim to 2nd place, though some view him to be the leader due to the aforementioned reason. In the continued dominance of double R's, RootRanger is displayed in 3rd place. The winner of the 3/2012 Championship League, Calindu, is in 4th. Due to the scandal surrounding blarp, the standings, when updated, may have him omitted.
- Now that 1/2013 has been officially closed, and 2/2013 is over the horizon, it is time to reflect. If you think you have an idea that would have helped during the last league, voice it in the Suggestions and Feedback thread. The League Organizers are awaiting your thoughts.

Tea Time with Giants: The Silent but Always Deadly, WizardcatBelow is a portion of the interview. Q: There's usually always a story being everyone's username. What's yours?
A: I want to say something witty about 'usually always', but nothing comes to mind.
I've used Wizardcat pretty much since I was thirteen, or somewhere around there. I don't remember exactly. Wizardcat actually isn't the first username I've used, though, with a minor exception, it has been the only one I've used since adopting the username. I pretty much respond more quickly to Wizard than my name at this point. As for why I chose it, at the time of choosing, I pretty much only played mages, felines, or feline mages - I was very into the fantasy genre (And still am, I suppose) and I wanted to incorporate both of my favorite things (wizards and cats - I got creative, right?) into my username. 'Wizard' is an excellent word, anyway. I may have actually been influenced by the game Megaman Battle Network 4 - there's a part of the plot where you have to fill in the missing parts of a story about 'Wzdog' and 'Wzmonkey' - one of the wrong answers is 'Wzcat'. Wz is, presumably, the game's shortening of Wizard, thanks to a limited number of letters.
Q: Congratulations on your team's win in War! What was your favorite part of the whole thing?
A: Thank you. I think my favorite part of War is simply seeing what the other teams field and how each round, and the whole War itself, turns out. While I like the event and want to be a part of it, playing in it has gotten to be less than enjoyable for me. The actual PvP just doesn't appeal much to me anymore. However, if there were to be available positions for new Warmasters for next War...
Q: Are you an actual cat?
A: The beauty of the internet is that you can never be exactly sure what or who I am regardless of how I answer this question.
Are you secretly a crazy cat lady? You don't have to share your shame, just click here.
- The Guildmasters have begun this fine and mostly friendly competition for your pleasure. With 69 original applicants, the Guilds had plenty of room to create their teams for each element and begin the exciting trials ahead.
- Now that the 12 teams have been formed, they must take on their first quest, ominously called "Gravekeeper". All you really need to know is that the Guilds are fighting off zombies.
- Sadly, the teams and the Guildmasters will be delayed due to the inability to access private boards, just for the individual teams, similar to War.
- The Guildmasters and Newsletter Writers are teaming up to bring you a glorious opportunity for 20 Guild Points! Remember last month how there was a crossword to practice on? Well now it's the real thing! Complete this crossword and submit it to the Guildmasters, n00b and Hyroen. If you get it right, you can achieve glory for your whole team!
- Think it's too late to join? Consider yourself wrong! Late applications are welcomed with open arms/tentacles/legs and whatever else you can think of! Read the Introduction and Rules and then apply to become a part of the action! Why if Kuroaitou the fabulous Hourglass can join late, you can too!
- With majofa retaining Council duties, he needs a little help. The Council is voting on who will help him at the position of PvP Event Manager! The winner will be determined soon, so get your confetti shredded and prepared now for human consumption so you will be ready for the celebration!
- RavingRabbid also has a lot on his plate, between organizing Forum Games, being a Council Member, being a Social Networker, and leading Lost Temple. This is why he is stepping down from the position of Trial Overseer! (Also to perhaps challenge for Master) If you have the skills to pay the bills, dare I say the craft to use a raft, then sign up here!

Deck Idea of the Month

This month features a deck that gives some rarely used cards a little creative love: Shard of Void, Graviton Salvager and Luciferin. This combo can create a growing Hope Shield and make your opponent's healing useless.
The Strategy: Reduce the opponent's HP with Shard of Void, use Graviton Salvagers to protect the SoV, and play Luciferin once enough creatures are out so you can protect yourself with the Hope Shield. Once this happens, finish the opponent with Holy Light on a Voodoo Doll once his HP is equal to or below 10. If you're lucky enough, the damage dealt by Salvagers will be sufficient enough to end the game.
Deck details:Dark Mark: This gives the Shards of Void that extra HP sucking bonus (from 2 to 3), which adds up when there is more than one in play. Also, the Voodoo Doll isn't there for no reason.
Gravity Pendulum: Hm...to get both types of Quanta probably.
Graviton Salvager: The passive ability protects the Shards of Void from destruction, and the absence of an active skill makes them a good target for Luciferin as they will produce Light Quanta.
Holy Light: Play on a Voodoo Doll once the opponent is at or below 10 HP. If you don't need that to win, or are in a desperate situation where you will lose otherwise, you can also heal yourself for 10 HP.
Luciferin: Heals you for 10 hp and gives all creatures Bioluminescence, making them start Light Quanta production.
Hope: Indestructible Shield with protection that can only be reduced through Creature Control.
Voodoo Dolls: CC resistant creature with a passive skill, therefore also suited for the use of Luciferin. Can be used for the finishing blow by hitting it with Holy Light.
Shard of Void: Reduce opponent's max HP by 3/turn, per Shard.
Weaknesses: Steal: As the Graviton Salvagers only protect from destruction and not from theft, your Shards of Void are very vulnerable to Steals. Beyond that, the 1 damage caused by each Graviton Salvager is rarely enough to win the match.
Discord: It's a trio, duh.
Mutation/Druid: You generally need to play Holy Light on a Voodoo Doll to end the game, if you don't have any left, that might be a problem.
SoP/Growing Creatures: Due to the limited amount of creatures, the max protection you can get with unupped Hope is 11. Shard of Patience decks easily outgrow that, and with a fast start, Lava Golems or Forest Spirits can be a problem too.
Eternity/Rewind: Rewinding creatures with Bioluminescence makes them lose their skill when they are played again, hence reducing the Light Quanta production and the protection given by Hope Shield.
Momentum: Gets past your shield, will probably kill you before you can finish your opponent.
A fun little deck that has the advantage of making good use of the neglected Shard of Void and the almost as neglected Graviton Salvager. The aforementioned cards can hurt it, but otherwise it can be quite effective and hard to beat. It's definitely destined for fun PvP trolling and maybe even AI3 grinding.
Brought to us by
andretimpa, Chromatic Aberration is a spell that affects the costs of creature skills according to your Mark. This card would help many elements address the issues with off-element abilities, most commonly seen in elements like
![Water :water](https://elementscommunity.org/forum/Smileys/solosmileys/../../../images/Misc/water18x18.png)
and... yeah.
Perhaps outside of utilizing it in a

pairing, Chromatic Aberration promises to help greatly in a Mono

Mutation deck, allowing all creatures to fuel their randomized abilities with
![Entropy :entropy](https://elementscommunity.org/forum/Smileys/solosmileys/../../../images/Misc/entropy18x18.png)
. Aside from that, this card seems to help stabilize some trios or quartets, allowing for the smoother use of some decks that would be slow if they were reliant on fueling abilities with an off-element.
There is an offensive use, albeit situational, for this as well. When addressing certain decks, changing the cost of the creature's abilities can help prevent or slow an opponent's strategy. This is perhaps more effective against Nova decks or anything without a consistent quanta production.
Duo Possibilities

|
![Water :water](https://elementscommunity.org/forum/Smileys/solosmileys/../../../images/Misc/water18x18.png)
] - This is perhaps the foremost implementation, as is pointed out a lot, is with
![Water :water](https://elementscommunity.org/forum/Smileys/solosmileys/../../../images/Misc/water18x18.png)
. With its creatures and their off-element abilities, this seems like a logical duo. From
Mind Flayers to
Chysaoras,
Toadfishes to
Steam Machines, this card certainly caters to the variety of colors presented by the abilities of
![Water :water](https://elementscommunity.org/forum/Smileys/solosmileys/../../../images/Misc/water18x18.png)
's creatures. And let's not forget
Nymph Tears. With Chromatic Aberration, it could be used to more easily fund the abilities of the Nymphs spawned.
[
![Entropy :entropy](https://elementscommunity.org/forum/Smileys/solosmileys/../../../images/Misc/entropy18x18.png)
|
![Aether :aether](https://elementscommunity.org/forum/Smileys/solosmileys/../../../images/Misc/aether18x18.png)
] - Chromatic Aberration gives some more depth to
Parallel Universe. It would no longer leave use to just copying high attack creatures. It allows you to grab the random creature and actually using its ability rather than relying on its damage output. Also, it allows the same to be done with
Mindgate, since you have a good chance of pulling a creature and not getting the quanta to actually use the ability if you can somehow pay to play them.
[
![Entropy :entropy](https://elementscommunity.org/forum/Smileys/solosmileys/../../../images/Misc/entropy18x18.png)
|
![Time :time](https://elementscommunity.org/forum/Smileys/solosmileys/../../../images/Misc/time18x18.png)
] - This is a bit of stretch, but with aside from Nova, Chromatic Aberration helps utilize the creatures that can be generated with
Fate Egg. If you splashed in a little
![Death :death](https://elementscommunity.org/forum/Smileys/solosmileys/../../../images/Misc/death18x18.png)
, you could use it to assist creatures created by
Skeletons being hit with
Reverse Time.
