I've tested the sudden killer in the opening post but it's been a pretty consistent loser for me against FFQ. If you wait too long to chain shields you get bolted to death, but if you chain shields too early you run out before you can find 113
quanta. With that deck you either need FQ to have a slow start or you need to start with plenty of fire pillars and hope to get lucky in drawing shields.
I built this as an alternative:
55k 55k 55k 55k 55k 55k 55k 55k 55p 55p 55r 55r 55r 55r 55u 55u 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61q 61q 61q 61q 61q 61q 621 621 621 621
It went 2-0 (hooray for large sample size!) though I ended both matches with <15 hp. Get out a quinted oty and a shield ASAP. Don't quint more than two otys, instead leave them as bait to be lanced. Use lightnings early to kill an FFQ if you can't find a quint or oty early, mid-game to brings FFQ within Oty's range, or late game for damage.
You end up with way too much fire quanta. I considered a gravity mark and dragons instead of fire eaters. That may be the way to go.
