The Communal Card Creation team congratulates Lizardman | Lizardman (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,21211.0.html) on winning the CCC's "Vanilla/Semi Vanilla" competition. It is a quality example of potential Vanilla card. We feel that this card would be an improvement to Elements the Game. If you liked this card you may like the other winners Invisible Stalker | Invisible Stalker (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,21399.msg292362.html), Garden Spider | Garden Recluse (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,21189.0.html) and Paper Crane | Noshi Crane (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,21280.msg290501.html) as well.

I decided to make a Vanilla creature that was a creature that does exist in fiction, but did not exist in Elements. After some looking around, I found myself interested in the Lizardman and as a result I based this card around it.

Its nice, but shouldnt it be life?

Also the cost is a little high. 3 for unupgraded and 4-5 for upgraded.

I don't like calling anything in the game "man".

Lizard would suffice.

Also the cost is a little high. 3 for unupgraded and 4-5 for upgraded. Other cards generally should either cost higher or be weaker than their elemental counterparts due to their abiltiy to drain from any quanta pool.
When I played the Fantasy mod Fall from Heaven (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=171398) and read up on the backstory a bit, I found Lizardmen more aligned with   :fire , and a modmod of that proposed that Lizardmen were rather of  :water:light and  :darkness based on their game mechanics (not being hindered by swamps or rivers and having the ability to switch between "tribes").  Life already has a semi-mid hitter in the form of Frogs and Cockatrices.  Other doesn't.

I always loved lizardmen in fantasy worlds. While theres nothing wrong with this card I was a little sad to see no ability :(

Well, I really don't expect a generic warrior to have any special skills - yet. Keep in mind this is a vanilla card competition, and for now this card's purpose is to give Other a usuable creature.

moar quanta, for 1 nova, i can play 4 of these.
Creature Cost = Attack + HP + Ability Value + Bonuses
Unupped
Attack = + 3
HP = + 0 (1-5)
Ability Value : + 0
Bonuses: None.
Value : 3  :underworld (Specific quanta)
According to Oldtrees:
So based upon
1 :underworld=3 :rainbow
and
8 :underworld=13 :rainbow
Multiplier is from x1.625 - x3
Therefore final cost value can be between 4.875 - 9
My current cost is 5.

Upped:
Attack = + 4
HP = + 0 (1-5)
Ability Value : + 0
Bonuses: -1/-2 for upgrade
Value : 2-3 :underworld (Specific quanta)
Multiplier is from x1.625 - x3
Therefore final cost value can be between 3.25 - 9
My current cost is 5.
I'm not exactly sure about raising the cost just yet.  Also keep in mind that in order for that combo to work you'd need 2 :entropy, 4 of these in hand, and you'd drain 20 quanta in the process, leaving you with 2 (or 2/3 if you're running mono) net quanta left. Not sure if that means its OP, but I just want to make a note of that.

So based upon
1 :underworld=3 :rainbow
and
8 :underworld=13 :rainbow
This does not imply:
Quote from: ZBlader
Multiplier is from x1.625 - x3
It implies that
F(1 :entropy)=3 :rainbow
F(8 :entropy)=13 :rainbow
F(1 :rainbow)=13 :entropy
F(13 :rainbow)=8 :entropy

Now with 2 points it is impossible to determine if the function is linear or non linear (such would require a 3rd point)
However models are made with the resources at hand
It appears F(N :underworld)= (11/7) + N (10 /7) :rainbow
F(3 :underworld)= 41/7=5.5857~=6 :rainbow

3|3 is worth 3 :underworld
3|3 -> 4|5 is an increase in value between 1 and 2 which is also the range for the upgrade cost reduction
4|5 upgraded is worth 3 :underworld

Therefore this Lizardman is worth 6 :rainbow|6 :rainbow.

:rainbow :underworld what do you guys mean when you use these symbols?
:rainbow means Other cards and random quanta.
 :underworld means many things. However I am using it here to represent generic elemental quanta like :time.
[ :underworld is also the symbol for a team in the WAR pvp event]

Please stop using images from photobucket. A lot of these are copyrighted, but due to the nature of the website, they're often also impossible to trace back to their original owners.

EDIT: With some help from your friendly neighbourhood curator, TimerClock14, I managed to track the artwork. It's copyrighted and should be removed.
So long and thanks for all the fish!

Updated image with my really bad art, and raised cost to 6.
Any more opinions?
