Card can trigger ability multiple times but not if you have a full hand. Wise Oak is intentionally weaker than Wise Ascendant and Focused Tinkerer due to being able to draw copies of itself and having more mono potential.

Should probably be balanced with respect to Golden/Electrum Hourglass.

Have not thought enough about it to give balance suggestions.

I believe it should cost a little more, considering the Hourglass still has to use extra quanta to draw.

Following up on the above comments, I would add an activation cost and make the 'creature' characteristic a requirement:

:life : Look at top card of your library, put it in your hand if it is a creature.

I understand that it is not as flashy as you describe, but Life is not really the element for card-drawing so it should not be 'better' than GH.

I like the card draw - creature connection, though, don't get me wrong.
Greatly improvides

Card Updated:
Draw ability given a cost of :life .
HP lowered from 7 to 4 . (This should be easier to kill than Hourglass IMHO.)

All feedback appreciated.

You did well, because i missed this until now. I like the mechanic, the only thing that bothers me a little is that an Yggdrasil should be greater than an Otyugh!
Maybe 6 HP for the upped?

Aside this, it's perfect.

As earlier comments show it's probably a bad idea for this to outrank Hourglass (since they cost the same), so I decided to keep the HP low.

Raising this card to 7 HP means you need at least 2 cards to take it off the field as opposed to 1 card to take out Hourglass (or one supercharged fire bolt). I'm not sure if that will disrupt balance or not.

I think the ability should cost  :time quanta, seeing as the drawing ability is usually time's MO.

And it makes some sense, I guess. I mean, it could kinda be like taking the TIME to worship the tree of LIFE will yield great rewards.

Mono-card draw in other elements shouldn't be an issue as long as there's some kind of drawback that justifies the theme (for example, SoBravery demonstrates recklessness by letting your opponent draw and potential negate your tempo, and Mindgate 'imitates' drawing from the opponent's deck). Time, IMHO, should be best for getting straightfoward card draw with no disadvantages since it has no problem with controlling the future (your draws), whereas other elements need to deal with a condition to get the same results.

As is, I was thinking that tree holds the essence of pure :life and that its variant of card draw is more like accelerated growth than worship.

But what is your drawback?

I mean, with Mindgate, there's not a huge chance you'll draw a card from them that you can use.

With SoBr, you accelerate your draws possibly faster than you can afford, AND you draw for your opponent.

This is just a 'draw a creature' card. It's really cheap, too. I think the hp should go up to 5, and every time you use the ability, it loses 1 hp.
