Nope. The only limitation is that you have to finish the whole thing in 1 week. How you do it, is up to you. You can play it in one session or everyday for a bit, as your time allows.
A timer would be stupid, since there is a high chance that neither players can be on for the full length of the game.

when Im building the duo decks, can i make decks like this:   :aether :darkness:aether :life , etc?  basically just using an element more than once

You have 7 pawns. You'll end up with 5 other elements.
Clearly you can. (At least I hope I'm right :) )

In the case of pawns, sure; the 5 remaining elements which are left after choosing the marks can be used to make monos, duos, trios, or even quint decks if you'd like.
For the main pieces (2 rooks, 2 bishops, 2 knights), you have to divide the 12 elements into 6 duo decks, so you can't use :aether :darkness for your bishop1, and then :aether :life for your knight2. They don't have any restrictions on their mark, though.

could you mark one bishop, rook and knight with some kind of mark so that the owner of that piece knows which deck belongs with that piece?

edit:  nevermind...  didnt see the numbers by them.  hahaha

sorry for all these questions...  but for any deck, like the king's deck, could you use 10 aether, 10 fire, 19 water, and 1 darkness card?  and the same concept for duo-decks: 29 cards of one element, 1 card of another element to make it a duo

Decks can be any that fits the forum definition, so in this case: yes, restrictions are just for the number of elements used to build a deck, no restrictions for the number of cards used per element.

Also: added 'Winning Conditions' to rules, just for clarifications; thus, added the solution for the possibility of a Draw (which was missing so far).

Event is starting up soon (real soon), so everyone planning to join, please read through the rules again carefully, and if something is still missing/not clear enough - ask away.
