Crystallization - "number of pillars" could be more well defined. Give earth some "hard" CC. Synergizes with trident more than anything. Again, a buff to trident I think.
As stated in the "NOTES" section on the thread of Lithification | Crystallization, the "number of pillars" is a third of the cost (rounded down) plus one.
"Synergizes with trident more than anything"? I don't see how, since you need at least 3 water and a gratuitous (more than one) amount of tridents to do anything. Earthquake, on the other hand, is much easier to play than trident, and multiple aren't as much of a waste (assuming the opponent has pillars). Furthermore, the synergy isn't with playing Trident at all, it's with using Trident's ability, which costs
Earth quanta and only Earth quanta. Also, note that Freeze is more of a buff to Air than a buff to Water, and yet is a Water card.
Secondly, it isn't a one-to-one Lithification-to-Earthquake scale, as there are rarely more than 3 pillars/towers created. This means that you might not even need more than 4 Earthquakes for 6 Lithifications. The least amount of Tridents I put in any deck is 3, which would be slower and less effective than 3 Earthquakes.
Note that the above was all about using Lithification | Crystallization as creature or permanent control. However, you completely ignored how it can be used to boost quanta generation. If you want to call Trident a Water card, then I can call Graboid an Earth card. Elite Graboid + Crystallization is a total of 6 quanta and 2 cards for 4 towers (including the extra 4
from playing 4 towers). And all these towers go into the same Stone Tower stack, even if Protect Artifact or Enchant Artifact was used on that stack. And, some Elements would have no need for this extra quanta generation, but Earth can use it for Stone Skin or Granite Skin. Also, this gives Earth a way to sacrifice an Antimatter'd creature to gain a beneficial effect, a mechanic currently owned by only Immolation, Cremation, Catapult, and Trebuchet.
I hope these insights lead you to re-evaluate Lithification | Crystallization, allowing you to fall in love with it (as I and others already have), or at the very least vote for it.
