Shard of Primordial
4 :rainbow
Reduce the number of cards you and your oppoent can have in hand. If paid only in  :gravity, doesn't affect you
The name sounds strange... shard of... primordial?? But I like the idea. Reduce the ammount of cards by how much?

I think there is no point at it costing electrum. You of course are going to play it before the killing blow, so you will always be able to play it. Playing it with a large amount of quanta would otherwise show some skill, you preserved some quanta to play it. Of course, SN would be a must.
I guess there needs to be an incentive to play it early.
If this costs like 25-30 random quanta, I think would be fine, maybe control decks could be played as well to farm AI3 :) And surely TADAbow wages would increase :D

What type of incentive could we add to the card? At least draw a card would be necessary... although it would be a free draw (in game, but if you lose the game, lol, not really free).

Refract (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,12741)
Windswept (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,19070)
Lithification (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,19078)
Refract: if you are going just create some alignment with Light, could be like "gain 10 HP if your mark is Light". But I dislike the effect, to complex to a shard, I think. The goal is split creature in 3, 2/3 to owner and 1/3 to opponent, right? Could be something more simple like "creatures HP is divided by 3; each creature gets + attack equal to HP loss", or at least divide creature by 2 "creature gets att and HP halved. Copy it to your field." - could be useful even on your creature, to duplicate skill.

Windswept: I dont think there should be an 'other' PC, at least, strong as that. Alignment could be like a Thunderstorm effect if your mark is Air, or generating some quanta, or giving your creature airborne status.

Lithification: liked a lot, loved the pillar generation. Could add a stone skin effect or, add some HP to creatures. Maybe could add "sacrifice a random pillar" to cost.

my ideas are jotted down in this thread: http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,28937.0.html
Here are they. I have no much more time now, but later I will give some opinions :)

permanents:
:air grace: your creatures have a 30ish % chance to dodge spells/effect/abilities, ? :air bonus
:fire tenacity: creatures burn your opponent dealing ~1 damage after each successful attack, ~2 damage if fire creatures
:entropy humor: function as a random shard each turn ? :entropy bonus
:darkness intuition: spells cast have a 30% chance to be added to your hand, 40% if :darkness
:entropy creativity: a random spell is placed in your hand each turn *added 7/23
:gravity unity: your creatures gain +1|+0 for every 20 hp of the sum of all of your creatures *added 7/23 (wouldnt include flying weapons)

spells:
:earth fortitude: target creature is impervious to death for 1 turn (2 turns upgraded), +1 turn if :earth
:earth encouragement: target creature gains growth ability costing :earth :earth, :earth if it is an earthen creature *added 7/23
:aether understanding: target creature gains +1|+1 for each immaterial creature in play *added 7/23
:aether potential: target creature generates a spark after each successful attack, ball lightning if it is an aether creature *added 7/23
:air liberty: target creature gains +1|+1 for each airborne creature in play *added 7/23
:water caring: target creature heals their owner rather than attack their opponent, water creatures +1 healing done
:gravity service: target creature gains -1|+1 each time they use their ability
:darkness restraint: decrease your opponents maximum health by 10 *added 7/23
or :darkness restraint: target creature's attacks the opponent's quanta pool instead of their health ? :darkness bonus?* added 7/26
:entropy flexibility: target creature gains chaos power each turn ? :entropy bonus? *added 7/26

shard of piety could be slightly revamped/adjusted, but i dunno:  http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,15800.0.html

card images: some of these card ideas were less developed and/or had different names at time of image creation, not a complete collection of the above, either-

Ok, lets comment moomoose shard ideas :)

permanents:
:air grace: your creatures have a 30ish % chance to dodge spells/effect/abilities, ? :air bonus
Like it; :air bonus could be an extra 10% to airborne creatures. Maybe the chances could be 20%-30% and a small bonus for each shard beyond the 1st.

:fire tenacity: creatures burn your opponent dealing ~1 damage after each successful attack, ~2 damage if fire creatures
If this stacks, could be OP with Fractal... Adding damage seems to be something that really fits fire.

:entropy humor: function as a random shard each turn ? :entropy bonus
Dislike this one... even why some shards are spells.

:darkness intuition: spells cast have a 30% chance to be added to your hand, 40% if :darkness
Looks interesting, but looks something aether related. Hope it doesnt stack, or you could accumulate quanta, and them with 6 of these, you play a Siphon Life and receive 2-3 in hand.

:entropy creativity: a random spell is placed in your hand each turn *added 7/23
This looks like the one I posted in 1st post. :)

:gravity unity: your creatures gain +1|+0 for every 20 hp of the sum of all of your creatures *added 7/23 (wouldnt include flying weapons)
Hmmmm, fractal armagios. Could also use them to defense. Interesting, but not much use beyond that.

spells:
:earth fortitude: target creature is impervious to death for 1 turn (2 turns upgraded), +1 turn if :earth
Very good. I would use 2 for unupped and 3 for upped (+1 earth)

:earth encouragement: target creature gains growth ability costing :earth :earth, :earth if it is an earthen creature *added 7/23
Doesnt make sense a shard that is usable just in earth decks. 2 earth quanta for each growth? It could be 2 quanta of the creature element, 1 if earth.

:aether understanding: target creature gains +1|+1 for each immaterial creature in play *added 7/23
Interesting, but looks not really powerful. Immaterial creatures are expensive, and quint would require 2 cards. Could make it +2/+2 (very good with anubis)

:aether potential: target creature generates a spark after each successful attack, ball lightning if it is an aether creature *added 7/23
I dislike it, its the same of giving +3/0 and +5/0, unless you are using some Death cards like BW. Other than that, the creature generation is pretty pointless.

:air liberty: target creature gains +1|+1 for each airborne creature in play *added 7/23
This looks strong, considering air creatures are all airborne, and FFQ is a generator. I like it, but could have a medium-big cost because of balance.

:water caring: target creature heals their owner rather than attack their opponent, water creatures +1 healing done
Like it a lot :)

:gravity service: target creature gains -1|+1 each time they use their ability
Seems a bit pointless. Maybe it will increase Otyugh effectiveness, but other than that, looks very weak.

:darkness restraint: decrease your opponents maximum health by 10 *added 7/23
Also looks weak. If hes not at max health, means almost nothing.

or :darkness restraint: target creature's attacks the opponent's quanta pool instead of their health ? :darkness bonus?* added 7/26
I see it could be destructive in the right creature. Very very destructive, in fact. Play this on a dragon, and your opponent will have almost no quanta for the rest of the game, unless it plays rainbows. Dunno if I like it, coming to an element that already has Pestal.

:entropy flexibility: target creature gains chaos power each turn ? :entropy bonus? *added 7/26
Also OP. Free +1-5/+1-5 every turn without paying?

That would be one way to stop it just being free electrum but I'd rather it came down early as a risk than came down late as a certainty.

Maybe have it:

Shard of Materialism 18 :electrum | 15 :electrum
Permanent
Shard of Materialism enters play delayed for 3 turns.
If you win with this card active, you gain 50 extra electrum.

:fire tenacity: creatures burn your opponent dealing ~1 damage after each successful attack, ~2 damage if fire creatures
If this stacks, could be OP with Fractal... Adding damage seems to be something that really fits fire.

- OP with fractal isnt as much a concern in card creation after the addition of mitosis and the nerf to fractal.

:entropy humor: function as a random shard each turn ? :entropy bonus
Dislike this one... even why some shards are spells.

-it being random means it may not be the right time to use such spells, so its a detriment as much as a bonus.  like if it randomly selects SoR to have it work that turn, and you have no creatures in play with abilities to use it on, its wasted.

-the % would stack- with a diminishing effect probably, but not the number of cards would max at 1 per spell cast.

:entropy creativity: a random spell is placed in your hand each turn *added 7/23
This looks like the one I posted in 1st post. :)

-aye, looks kinda similar, different mechanism for the action, and i promise i didnt rip the idea from you

:gravity unity: your creatures gain +1|+0 for every 20 hp of the sum of all of your creatures *added 7/23 (wouldnt include flying weapons)
Hmmmm, fractal armagios. Could also use them to defense. Interesting, but not much use beyond that.

- also a boost to chimera, massive dragons and when smaller creatures are in play to benefit from the +atk when the larger creatures are in play

spells:
:earth encouragement: target creature gains growth ability costing :earth :earth, :earth if it is an earthen creature *added 7/23
Doesnt make sense a shard that is usable just in earth decks. 2 earth quanta for each growth? It could be 2 quanta of the creature element, 1 if earth.

-just decks that have earth quanta involved, yeah, but you put a nice twist on it.  could be the opposing element to prevent it from being too powerful in monos and help spring up some interesting decks

:aether understanding: target creature gains +1|+1 for each immaterial creature in play *added 7/23
Interesting, but looks not really powerful. Immaterial creatures are expensive, and quint would require 2 cards. Could make it +2/+2 (very good with anubis)

- having anubis, quint and the nymph in mind is why i didnt boost it any higher initially, but its not set in stone, just a concept to put out at this point

:aether potential: target creature generates a spark after each successful attack, ball lightning if it is an aether creature *added 7/23
I dislike it, its the same of giving +3/0 and +5/0, unless you are using some Death cards like BW. Other than that, the creature generation is pretty pointless.

-not the same, 1) it only works after successful attacks 2) damage is reduced twice and not one, its a balance mechanism, an offshoot atk buff along the lines of blessing, or chaos power, etc, but with an :aether twist

:gravity service: target creature gains -1|+1 each time they use their ability
Seems a bit pointless. Maybe it will increase Otyugh effectiveness, but other than that, looks very weak.

-it can boost oty, sure enough, but it can also be a debuff for opposing creatures to dissuade your opponent from using that creatures ability, or it will eventually start to heal you

:darkness restraint: decrease your opponents maximum health by 10 *added 7/23
Also looks weak. If hes not at max health, means almost nothing.

- just a concept for the anti-SoD, and it could be useful in an anti-miracle role as well, and hinder the usefulness of healing in a stall deck.

or :darkness restraint: target creature's attacks the opponent's quanta pool instead of their health ? :darkness bonus?* added 7/26
I see it could be destructive in the right creature. Very very destructive, in fact. Play this on a dragon, and your opponent will have almost no quanta for the rest of the game, unless it plays rainbows. Dunno if I like it, coming to an element that already has Pestal.

-well, considering it doesnt yet have a darkness effect, the elemental association isnt much of a concern.  perhaps it could cut the attack in half, like burrow

:entropy flexibility: target creature gains chaos power each turn ? :entropy bonus? *added 7/26
Also OP. Free +1-5/+1-5 every turn without paying?

-well, put it this way, chaos power is only 1 :entropy to play, if you put this on a creature, and it costs 5, you payed 5 turns ahead for the effect five times.  it just needs to be tinkered with a tiny bit, like making it cost 3 but only last 5 or 6 turns.
moose dont say moo.
