I was listing details. Not making a claim one way or the other. One cannot balance Holy Light without mentioning Luciferin and Heal.

My opinion is that, excluding events like War/Trials and excluding the situational bonus against SoSac, Holy Light is inferior to Luciferin.
Cost: I would prefer to pay 2 over paying 1 :light. Likewise I would prefer to pay 1 over paying 0 with mulligan interference.

how about it is a pernament that heals light and life creatures by 1 hp per turn? And a small chance to bless? Cost 1 light per turn, like inundation, start cost maybe 4.

That's just changing Holy Light completely.  The idea would be best kept to a cheap :light spell that healed.  Maybe with an extra efffect, but nothing more.

Typically these threads are about buffing or nerfing the card. Not replacing the card with an unrelated card.

Hmm, I think it's easy to understand that I'd rather not see this card buffed.

Holy Light is one of the few hard counter cards, they're not very effective in many cases, but when they are, they are ridiculously overpowered and game changing. There is no single card that can deal as much CC damage as Holy Light and it's one of the cheapest cards as well.

I personally would like to see a buff accompanied with a nerf or removal of it's damage against Death/Darkness creatures (buff: let it heal them, too? :P). One curious buff would be for it to turn into damage upon reflection (nice indirect buff to Reflective/Mirror Shield, obviously implying it would be reflected).

I second this. Reducing the situational overpowered nature of Holy Light would make it more balanced in specialized formats and allow the primary effect to be buffed.

This thing seemed dead inside. It seemed like an automaton, trying to act like as if it was alive. The effect was unsettling.
Orianna made a sound that supposed to a girl's squeal of glee and hugged The Ball. While it might have been touching, it was unfortunately only horrifying.

And have that piece of theme replaced with cards such as revenant.

Of course hl is cheaper but...fire bolt deal3 for every 10 quanta...3x(75:10)=3x7=21_ice bolt deal 2 for every 10 quanta...2x(77:10)=2x7=14_drain life equa) and you can built a strategy around them, can't say the same with holy light unless you're gonna face only death/darkness decks.
the main problem is it don't really fit in any deck.
i'm not sure 'bout the math, i never used a firestall or so :D

Since everyone agrees that Holy Light became totaly useless and UP, accept for mono  :darkness players who find it waaaay OP (lol), and personaly, I believe that useless cards need usefull buffs, so.... How bout that with all effects HL already has it would give sanctuary status to caster for 1-2 turns? Since sanctuary effect already is light effect, and Arena is overfilled with denial decks.

Remove Holy Light's damage dealing in  :darkness and  :death if you feel like, just not let you hear again how powerful :darkness and  :death are. I know I sound like a retarded bastard with inferiority complex, but Elements was always a rock-paper-scissor game. A mono- :aether beats mono- :life, a mono- :life beats mono- :fire and mono- :fire beats mono- :aether, so mono- :light beats mono- :darkness& :death; there are countless examples like these.

These examples or others like them will always exist. It is not relevant to whether Holy Light would be better as a less situational card (aka stronger base effect, less elemental hate).
