The wording is confusing. If I understand it correctly you could try changing it to: "N is the number of active abilities the opponent has used since Scarlet Critter has come in play."

I think this card is a bit underpowered. You have to go against specific types of decks to use this. If the opponent plays a dragon rush deck, then what?

but most of decks use active abilities and Scarlet critter can be used for cremation, mutation.
EDIT: I changed hp to 2

But we've already got ass eater for that. So how about changing the unupped to N+1 and the upped to N+2. This way the unupped version can deal damage even when no active abilities have been used.

CURATOR COMMENT

To get to the Crucible
- need a link to where the art was acquired

Suggestion
The ability could be better said as
"Scarlet Critter gains +1Atk when an opponent activates an Ability"

No need to save variables and that crap just use a reaction trigger. Like a death trigger.

Exactly.

Very cool card idea.  It gives you a passive/aggressive way of dealing with quinted creatures.  I would vote for this!

are you kidding this card is op, first of all its a 2/2 for 1 quantum and it can only get bigger
second of all activated abilities are insanely common in decks, including some rushes.
Just one of this will make your opponent think twice about chyssora, 2 and they auto lose

well you're right that active abilities are insanely common so I changed back attack to 0 unupped and 1 upped.
But opponent can choose when this creature grows and when not.
But this creature have 2 hp so it's very vulnerable. (Hp doesn't grow)

can be killed by: :aether lighting
                         :fire   fire bolt
                         :fire   Rain of fire
:fire  Fire buckler (after 2 turns
                        :fire   rage elixir
                         :air   Shockwave
                        :water  frost bolt
                         and many others

I went to the link you gave and its just deviant art, no profile or art that matches.
I went to ketka's profile, that image isn't in her gallery.
I searched ketka, and the first 100 or so images the art didn't show.

Got a better link?

Hiddened I found it

I personally don't feel that fire should have creatures like this. Fire element is based on sudden burst of high damage, not control-related cards like this. fits more to elements like entropy or gravity.
