Rules Clarifications
Phase 2 forfeits: A number of players have asked “what happens if playerX and playerY don’t finish their match?” This problem will be addressed on a case-by-case basis. If a player didn’t fight any matches he’ll likely forfeit them all. If a player fought some but not all matches I’ll look into which player put in more effort to get the match done. Help me out by forwarding me scheduling PMs you sent but didn’t receive a reply or whatever, and generally fill me in as to what happened.
Tie after Phase 3: If total points are tied after Phase 3 (and I don’t believe this has ever happened), Phase 2 points will serve as the tiebreaker.
Sudden death: In the Time Trials, 10 men, Kuro, and Sno all tied 2-1 and PlayerOa ended 0-3. Sudden death is the same process as the matches that were already played except PlayerOa is excluded and matches are best-of-one. If they each go 1-1, they start it all over again. If they keep tying and they get tired of the merry-go-round I will flip a coin. I'd really prefer the next Master of Time not to be decided by my 3-sided coin.
Important: If 10 men is the one to win the tiebreaker, 2nd place is determined by the head-to-head matchup that has already taken place. SnoWeb beat Kuro before the tiebreaker was necessary, so he'd get 2nd place and Kuro would get 3rd even if Kuro beat Sno 50 times while trying to break the tie.
The three players don't really need to get together all at once, although that'd certainly make it easier if they need to break the tie more than once. But there's no reason not to start as soon as two players come online.
