deuce, pika definitely knows what he's doing. I really doubt he would make a ban that gives him a "significant disadvantage". Fractal is a very strong card, and pika made a good choice.

Bans are a two way street.  The Fractal ban was a good choice, but not banning Dim Shield looks bad only when you see the bans Higs made.  Higs took a chance with her bans that pika wouldn't ban Dim Shield, and him it over the fences as a result.  If pika had banned it her bans would look significantly weaker as a result.  I mean Unstable Gas, for example, is an extremely weak ban unless Dim Shields aren't banned.  Really pika didn't make bad ban choices.  Higs just took a chance with her bans and hit the jackpot as a result.

I know what I would do now if I was pika. I hope he does, because that would be awesome ^ awesome.

Yeah. Higs does know that pika know she likes her flaming chickens to go with Fractal. Good ban choices for both players, but Higs took a chance and it will pay off.

I think TStar pretty much hit on what I was trying to get at. I'm not suggesting Fractal is a bad card to ban because Higs likes to say how OP it is. However, in this context, I think Dim Shield > Fractal. Pika definitely has multiple options to bypass dim shield over the course of 9 matches. The only question is whether or not his decks will be able to win fast enough because he has no dims to stall with.

There are multiple options to bypass dimshield but i dont think there are enough to win 5 games.

It's even a meh ban in this format, but so is everything else I had left to choose from. x)
Blitz and different Bolts were options, as was Sanc or Miracle (even Pulvy was), but Fractal Elite Fireflies with UG's is a lot more dangerous than most of those and a little bit more dangerous than some. So eh, it's just a small plus.

Even without the best PC banned, Dim Shield was bound to dominate the metagame during this Final Battle as it does during a lot of heavily restricted battles Aether takes place in, and pika activated my trap card just like last Trials. On the plus side, I can guarantee he has more time to build decks since I'm both moving and starting a new school.
As such, I look forward to seeing his weird stuff.
