Special Competition:
Elements Cards Flavor TextTime's up! Cards above are simply examples made in 3 minutes.Welcome to another EPIC competition. This time it's about
flavor text. Idea for this competition came to me after reading that one post where someone suggested adding flavor text to Elements cards. It's a great idea that I think would add the the awesomeness of Elements.
This competition does not mean that flavor texts will be implemented in Elements.
Information about flavor text:
Flavor text is the name given to text for action figure character backgrounds, playing cards, or within the pages of a role-playing game's rulebook. While appropriate to the product's or game's story concept, it usually has no effect on the mechanics of the game, but instead serves to add realism or characterization to the item in question. Flavor text is often the last text on a card or on the rear of a toy card or package, and is usually printed in italics or written between quotes to distinguish it from game-affecting text.
COMPETITION RULES:- 3 image submissions per person (all in same post)
- If you change your submission, edit the original post instead of starting a new one
- Before the voting starts, we will preselect 1 card per type that will go on the poll. This means that if 5 people make "Steal" flavor text image, only 1 of them get to go to the actual winning poll. This card will be chosen by myself and Event Organizers. (this rule is to prevent a situation where there are 300+ submissions and it takes me 6 hours to make the poll).
- because of the previous rule, it's smart to pick a card that others haven't picked. If you are the only one who picked a specific card, you will go to final vote for sure.
- winner will get an awesome forum award icon + a small ingame cash prize
- Use this topic for all discussions
- below is a tutorial on how to produce these card images
We will have 2 different categories: Only one category!!!
1.
Serious ideas that fit Elements theme and could be used in the game (humor IS allowed if it doesn't go overboard)
2. Funny ideas (internet lingo, current events, modern jokes)Winners from both categories will be rewarded. Only one reward so that we are consistant!!!

2. Each layer has a small checkbox on the right. Click a checkbox to make that layer visible, or unclick it to make that layer invisible. Choose one card layer, and the correct text layer. Only cards that have space for flavor text have been included.
3. Click the text layer in the "Layers" panel so that it is selected. Choose the "Type Tool" from the left (it looks like a big A)
4. Click the flavor text on the image and a text editing window should open.
5. Change the text and press "Ok".
6. If the text is in the wrong place (for example not centered), choose "Move Tool" and move it around.
