Please enter the Tournament Channel at least 15 minutes before the tournament starts. Use your forum username as nickname.

Please read the PvP Tournament rules carefully before signing up.

Prizes

1st	7,000 electrum + Nymph/Mark + Trophy (Forum Icon)
2nd	5,000 electrum + Nymph/Mark
3rd	4,000 electrum
4th	3,000 electrum
5th	2,000 electrum
6th	1,000 electrum

Players who lose their quarterfinal (Top 8) matches will compete for the 5th and 6th place prizes in a mini-tournament. Prize-eligible players (namely, ones in the top 8) who leave the tournament without notifying the Tournament Organizer of their intent are considered to have forfeited their match, and also their prize.

NOTE: Players with fewer than 30 forum posts are not allowed to enter tournaments. Spamming low-quality posts to reach the minimum post count needed to participate will not be tolerated.

Special Rules

• Upgraded cards are not allowed.
• Shards are not allowed.
• Mark cards are considered to be Pillars of their featured element.
• Nova, Immolation, Mindgate, Earthquake, Nightmare, Nymph's Tears, Nymph Queen, Dimensional Shield, Fractal, Parallel Universe and Fate Egg are banned.
  
• Users may choose to be either Beggar or Baron. "Baron" can only use cards with costs of four or more quantum, while "Beggar" may only use cards costing four or less quantum.
• Both Beggars and Barons can play Pillars/Pends.
  
  • Choice of being Beggar or Baron lasts duration of tournament.
  • Users must have usernames that reflect their choice fifteen minutes before the start of the tournament.
  • While reporting scores, users must state what choice they and their opponent chose (though it might seem superfluous, it hopefully erases confusion).

Q. Some cards are not banned, resulting in Baron using Beggar cards and vice versa. Reason?

A. As some members suggested, banning cards more strictly may destroy the diversity of the meta, which make the whole tournament less enjoyable. After discussion between TOs there will be some exceptions, some obvious ones are Graboid and FFQ/Pharaoh. But with these exceptions, we urge players to respect the rules, and do not try to abuse the loophole.

Cool idea; if I can be awake at 6am I'll be there!

A few things I'm noticing:

-Fractal and parallel universe should maybe be banned for the same reasons as nightmare/fate egg/mindgate, i.e. being able to get beggar creatures in a baron deck.
-I don't think immolation would really need a ban.  Its main use is getting out big fire creatures quick, and if immolation is in your deck, you can only use small cost creatures.  I suppose it could be used kind of like nova, though, to get quick quanta, though at the cost of 2 cards, but I don't think that would be a problem
-What is the reasoning behind banning nymph's tears/queen?  I suppose you could give beggar opponents some nymphs if you really wanted to, but nobody's going to do that :p  Was it simply considered OP for this environment?
-What about mutation stuff?
-Were both beggar and baron intended to have access to 4cc cards?

I think this is one of the cases where having a diverse meta is more important than to strictly enforcing the theme of the turnament.
I would just divide the cards into the two groups and dont bother with any more bannings. Yea FFQ is a baron card that can create a beggar card, so what?

I dont think the thematic grouping of cards makes for two evenly matched sides. But does it matter if the tourney is all barons or all beggars?

@ acsabi, yeah they always seem to favor banning everything rather than letting some things slip through for inventive decks, id love to see some1 try a beggar mono time deck....
