The Rules1. Each player chooses an existing element, and then is given 10 quanta of that element.
You can alternatively choose 2 existing elements and start with 5 quanta in each element pool.
2. Provide a backstory, lore, or at least what kind of ability/skill you'd want to have. The GM then designs a 'player card' for you based on that.
Example :
Name : Guest101 the Great - A quanta maker
Level/Elements : 1
ATK/HP 1/1
Ability : 1 Other : Gain 2 random quantum.
Experience : 0/20 EXP
Quanta : 10
Electrum : 100
Items : None
Current Goals: N/A
You are responsible for keeping track of your own player card. To do this, I would post a 'snapshot' of your current player card for every first move you make in a round.3a. During rounds, players are presented with a card challenge, be it lore, flavor, or randomly designed card. The objective is for players to design a card (in 5 minutes!
Note) that counters that card, gets through the DM's challenge, negotiates with the NPC, etc...
You must be able to cast your card with your current quanta supply. (Whatever quanta you spend on casting the card/using it's abilities is permanently drained. Don't worry, you'll get more quanta at the end of each round.)
You do not need a full card table or images for your card - just use the format below:
Name:
Element:
Cost:
Type:
Atk|HP:
Text:
Notes:
Art: (Optional)
Challenge Examples:
3b. You may also perform any other actions you want in the round - e.g. if there's a shop, you can visit it to buy stuff. If you don't give any specific order for your actions, your 'out-of-combat/card design' actions will happen before your card idea is 'cast'. In addition to quanta, you may also get electrum that can be used to buy equipment and items if there are shops nearby.
4. Cards are then judged by the GM and given a rating. The GM will judge from three categories:
- Flavor: Does this card fit the theme/lore/context of the challenge?
- Balance: Is this card balanced?
- Meta: Is this card a copy of an existing ingame card? Has this idea been used before in this RP? How does this card work in the current ETG?
All cards will be judged in the unupgraded metagame unless stated otherwise.
Each category is rated out of 10, so you may earn a maximum rating of 30 and a minimum rating of 0 under normal circumstances. You need a certain rating to pass each challenge. Rating also determines how much quanta/experience you gain at the end of each round - be careful not to overspend and run out of quanta.
5. A player card's 'casting cost' is their level - each level requires 10 more EXP than the last. (L1 0/20 -> L2 0/30 -> L3 0/40 etc...) When you level up, the GM will
upgrade your card with some sort of improved ability, stats boost, or other change.
6. Each round, you get either 2 Mono element quanta or 1 of each Duo element quanta you picked at the beginning. (E.g. if you picked
only, you get 2
. If you picked
, you get 1
and 1
.) You may also choose to manually gather quanta as one of your actions for the round - depending on the environment, you might even get quanta out of your chosen elements.
7. Victory condition(s) is/are determined mostly by the player's actions, though usually the GM will give some kind of preset goal like 'kill the evil dragon' etc... You have a lot of free reign here to worldbuild or create backstory, so feel free to explore! (Just make sure you don't derail the plot.)

FAQs:1. If I'm attacked by a creature only, what happens to my creatures?
Creatures you summon will attack the opposing creatures of your choice. You could also fight enemy creatures directly, but seeing as you probably will start as a 1/1, I'd advise against it. Each creature you can control can attack one enemy creature at a time, unless they have an ability that states otherwise.
2. Can I create a new card type/make a new element?
Yes, you can create a new card type or gain a new '13th' element through leveling. Be aware that it's slightly harder to design such cards, though.
3. I want some quick profile art for my RPG character, what should I use?
See
Free Character Maker(s) - For your RPG Character Needs.
4. Are there any limits to equipment?
Yes - for example, if you have 4 swords and your character only has two hands, you can't wield all four swords at once. Equipment here generally follows how it'd work in most RPGs - you can't put equipment onto a part of your body that's already using equipment. If you have multiple equips for one 'slot',
bold which items you have equipped.
5. How will the time limit be controlled?
Time limit will be controlled by a timer for each round, similar to the ones you see in Mafia games, Competitions, or PvP Events. Currently, each round lasts 3-5 days, but that may change depending on how active everyone is. If everyone in the RP posts before the round ends, I'll try to end the round early. If you don't post by the end of the round, you simply do nothing.
6. What happens to creatures/permanents after I summon them for one round?
If you're a battle, creatures and permanents will remain in play until that battle ends. In all other cases, the card vanishes after one round, so spend carefully.
7. If I make a chance-based effect card such as Chaos Seed, what happens?
I'll roll a die for the possible results.
8. Can we cast already existing cards in addition to the speed created card?
When you start, you don't know any special moves besides A) Your current ability and B) the ability to Design/Recast Card Ideas. Ingame cards in ETG need to be 'learnt' or acquired somehow first.
9. Can we use previous cards we have created in this thread?
Yes, you may recast cards you've already created.
10. May we create two cards(or more) to work in sync to deal with the problem at hand?
Only if I specifically say you can. Otherwise, assume that you can only create one card per challenge.
11. Are there any others ways to gain quanta besides round events?
You can purposely 'gather' quanta from an area, though that takes time. You'll also get quanta when you travel - quanta tends to be more abundant in less-inhabited areas.
