Since Flash will die soon I think it is time to revamp the reward system of the tournaments.
Here are my suggestions values:

Winner       1 Mark/Nymph Code (+5000 electrum)
2nd place   1/3 Mark/Nymph Code (+3000 e)
3rd place      1/5 Mark/Nymph Code (+3000 e)
4th place      1/8 Mark/Nymph Code (+2000 e).

Frankly, I don't care if someone thinks giving out fractions of Mark Codes dilutes the value of codes or the power structure or whatever we name it.
The game will die and I think these changes should have been implemented one year earlier. The reason for lower electrum rewards: no one really
cares about electrum, really. It is easier to maintain codes. Also, we can also simply delete them (except for 1st prize, since that's tied to the mark code).
It is much easier making a Google Sheet for Mark Code fractions than handling out electrum codes... When summarizing Mark Codes you will have to
actually reach (or surpass) the next integer value to get the Nymph Code.

Before making this as an actual change I'm awaiting anti's reaction, though I hardly think that 1-2 extra Mark Codes per month would cause any problems.
With the current low participation rate I do think that we should raise the rewards even more when having at least 8 player (or playing 5 player RR).

Sounds fine to me

Would prefer fractions that add into each other, 1/1 1/3 1/6 1/9 or 1/1 1/2 1/4 1/8 or 1/1 2/5 1/5 1/10 or even 1/1 3/7 2/7 1/7

I like the 1/1 2/5 1/5 1/10 and ditching the electrum codes. Honestly we should just give an electrum code to new participants as encouragement.

I don't think this is the way to go. There haven't even been regular tournaments but more importantly barely more than 4 players for one tournament.

Nice aesthetics, serp. I'm thinking in numbers which show: 3 x 2nd places = 1 Code and so on.
1/3 1/6 1/9 are the closest to my numbers, though a bit more harsh. Or we can adjust my 1/8 to 2/15,
that makes it similar to your series.

On the other hand free codes are an over the top idea. Don't steal the dopamine surge from ppl.
Winning is a good thing, and giving them opportunity to put together codes gives them a feel of success.

moe I absolutely understand you. At the same time not much space left to endorse players to play
tourneys.

The only reason I say this is because electrum codes are pretty much worthless. In the time it would take me to find my last PM that contains 2k in electrum codes and redeem them, I could farm more than that in silver arena. The idea is that even if they get rekt immediately in the tourney, which is likely, they still come away with the feeling that they experienced something they never could have without interacting with the community. (Or donating, I guess.)

Dunno, when I first entered a tourney and got rekt quickly by asdw (iirc) all I thought that I have to enter the next one and do it better.
That's reward enough for the first steps.

anti isn't reacting (haven't logged in so far), but the game doesn't have time to wait forever. New prizes are applied from the next tourney,
following serp's mathematically aesthetic numbers: 1/1, 1/3, 1/6, 1/9.

Updated the rules with this and added the new rewards. This rule were used 5 times since 2019 Oct 20th, and maybe even before that.
Just somehow haven't got added to the official ruleset.

3.8 - Tiebreakers
In case of a round-robin type of tournament ties (2 or more players having the same amount of won/lost matches) can happen. In that case the following rules apply.

Priority order to resolve a 3-way tie.

In a 3-way tie only those matches count which are played against other tied opponents.
  • Match wins against tied opponents.

  • The WIN/LOSS ratio of all played games. (For example Player 1 having 5 wins and 3 losses is better than Player 2 having 5 wins and 4 losses.)

  • If - after using the previous rule - there are 2 players left with the exact same statistics (won/lost games) then we look at their match against each other.
The winner gets the better placement.

  • If there are 3 players with the exact same won/lost games statistics then the TO assigns numbers to each tied contestants and rolls and 1d3 publicly.
The roll will show the number of the player who is out of the competition. The remaining 2 players then may play a tiebreaker game OR ask the TO to roll an 1d2
and determine the winner the same way explained above.

Priority order to resolve a 2-way tie.

It is a simple case, hence the tied players had a match against each other. Whoever won that match also won the better placement.

Priority order to resolve a 4-way tie.

  • It follows the logic of 3-way ties, all the rules written there applies here as well.

  • Only exception is the rare case of 4 players with the exact same statistics, then the TO must eliminate two players by 1d4 rolls. The TO first assigns numbers to players
then does 1d4 rolls until 2 players are eliminated (the rolled numbers shows who are the eliminated players). The player eliminated first gets the 4th place, the player
eliminated second gets the 3rd place. The 2 players left in the tie may play a tiebreaker game against each other. The winner gets the 1st place. In case of these 2 players
are really hardcore and don't have time to play another game they may ask the TO to make an 1d2 roll to determine the winner of the tournament (but we hope such things
    won't ever happen).

Spoiler for Examples:

In the 2020.05.17. tourney we had a 3-way tie between Klatu, serprex and Wyand. All of them had 1 win against tied opponents.
The end results were (the results vs tied opponents are in the parentheses):

1. Klatu 5-3 (1-2, 2-0, 2-1)
2. Wyand 5-4 (2-1, 2-1, 1-2)
3. serprex 4-3 (2-1, 0-2, 2-1)

Another example was the 2019.11.24. tourney, where there was a 3-way tie for the 2nd-4h places.  TheonlyrealBeef, mathman101
and Wyand all had 1 win against tied opponents. The end results were:

2. TheonlyrealBeef 4-4 (1-2, 1-2, 2-0)
3. mathman101 3-5 (1-2, 2-1, 0-2)
4. Wyand 3-5 (2-1, 1-2, 0-2).

As you can see, mathman101 and Wyand had the same statistics, but if we look at their match it ended with mathman's win,
so the 3rd place goes to him.

From now on 6 player tourneys will use the Swiss format, which means there will be 3 rounds,
where everybody will play 3 matches. Pairs will be determined by challonge at the start of
each round.

This way no one can bag in a tournament win by having only 2 matches (which was the
case with the previous single elimination method). Previous tiebreaker rules apply to
the swiss method as well.

(This will be added to the official rules once I find the free time to do that.)
