I'd say it is, but that's just me.

Aside from that, I see an issue with it being in :death as you can use that to fuel in-element death effects.

I thought about that too of course. Basically I'd say fueling them isn't bad at all, one simply has to make sure the sacrifice isn't too cheap. So I was thinking about maybe modifying it to "Sacrifice a worthy creature: [...]", with "worthy" being all creatures but skeletons and magn. cells. Yes, sacrificing could still be an advantage all in all (BW, BY, Vulture...) but it would be very hard to get those sacrificable creatures.
I could also just change it to Darkness though. Aaand I have to think about if it's too close to your card. Maybe I'll open a poll.

Aflatoxin could help make great fodder in element, and quanta shouldn't be too much of an issue with that many death effects [Soul Catcher]

I was thinking about "worthy" = Everything except Skeletons and Mag. Cells. Should already be enough imho.

/e: Or do you mean, define it in the card text? "More than this cards defense" would be possible, but I'd say that'd make it UP already...
