I don't see why everyone's putting so much stock in the players defeatability.
For instance, everyone sees some pretty big names fighting for earth/entropy. But all you need is ONE great deck builder, and players who are experienced enough to play the deck well. I personally do not think earth will win.
My reasoning is simple. They can't surprise you. When you fight Earth, you will be fighting a graboid rush with earthquakes, or maybe a pulverizer deck, or perhaps a devourer deck. When you fight Earth, you will be fighting a quanta denial deck with some basic hitters 90% of the time. Will they surprise us with diamond shield+stone skin combo? Maybe. Will they hit us with a delay deck? Probably. But I don't think Earth has an amazing deck it can pull out of it's hat.
To beat earth, you simply need a deck that doesn't rely on pillars, gains a lot of quanta really fast, and can unfreeze creatures really fast. Huh. If only someone made one of those.
Entropy, on the other hand, can cause more problems. A butterfly effect deck is a completely different play-style than a lycanthrope deck, and mutation decks are random enough as is, without nova-rainbows knocking at the door. But again, the players aren't what will make their team good, it's the decks.
I can personally tell you life is going to do better than some might think. We looked at the things life isn't expected to have, and took them. It's gonna be fun.
