the element of luck... https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=7885.msg88376#msg88376

Just played a match where, with 11 cards left, i had not drawn a single pillar/tower. My deck has 8, out of 30 cards.

I wonder what the odds of that are? Just goes to show that, no matter how good you are (not that i'm any good) some things remain beyond your control.

The odds are slim ((22C7*8C0/30C7)*(22C19*8C0/30C19)~=1:423,436 (assuming no other cost 0 cards)), but yeah since unlikely isn't impossible things like that can happen. By the way are you playing a speed rainbow or something? Otherwise you'd normally pack 12-15 pillars.

really im pretty sure this cant happen when im right you always get at least one card with no cost (pillar/nova/immolation) or did you play photons and/or sparks couse then you could start with them instead of at least 1 pillar

You mean the built in mulligan protection?  I think there is the smallest chance that it will fail after 10 unsuccessful tries or something, but I doubt that happened.

It only occurs once .If you don't have any no cost cards in your hand on the first draw, auto mulligan ofccurs and you geta second chance. If you have no free cards in your hand then, tough luck. Imagine what would happen if auto-mulligan never stopped and you ran like a deck with only 6 supernovas in it =P

Supernovas are not free so it wouldn't work.

Ok then 1 pillar and then discard next turn. xD

I just wish there was a 2nd auto mulligan because i still end up with horrendous draws and i am sure you all have too!

Like the time i only drew 1 quantum tower and no supernovas until my 18th card... i had to discard almost half my deck!

I was referring to a deck where there would be an infinite loop of mulligans if they didn't stop after one try =P. not a real deck

Likely bad deck design.

I beg to differ! I had 6 towers and 6 supernovas in a 30 card deck.  It was just terrible, terrible luck and that was the only time it happened.
