I think what he's trying to say is that in the void set, the fact that your own cards give your opponent quanta doesn't really compensate for the draining effect of these towers, and he's right.

Since you are in control of when your opponent will receive the quanta, of course you won't give it to them unless you're prepared to deal with whatever they play (that's assuming your void pillars don't just drain all of it at the end of the turn).
As I commented above, playing Void like a normal element will not cause a noticeable drain on the opponent. If you sacrifice field position for a quanta advantage then you will have to be willing to face the consequences and there will be consequences to correspond with the advantage. Adjusting the numbers would balance these cards if they are not balanced already.

I'm not sure how it wouldn't drain them. As long as I have more void pillars than you have pillars, you generate no quanta.

Sorry to interrupt but:

I can overproduce quantum and save it for later, however with Void I can only drain an opponent's quantum to 0. If you spam something like Void Dragons and Nymphs you can't get pillars out quickly enough to compensate for the gain until several turns later. Also, if you just change your mark all the Void Pillars in a deck become near-useless unless you run pendula.

What Oldtrees is saying is that Void creatures give the opponent mark quantum, so that Void pillars can destroy it. A well-balanced Void deck does not "overproduce" with it's pillars, but does not give the opponent too much quantum either. (Compare this to starting with a hand full of normal pillars and a hand with just 1 pillar). If you want to run Void Pillars in a denial deck you have to sacrifice card slots, and normal cards also cost quantum instead. How many pillars do you plan to get rid off to fit the Void Denial part in? You can't just fill a deck with Void Pillars and expect it win, simply because nobody only runs monos.

This becomes slightly more problematic with void pendulums but is still a valid point. 60 void pillars is not a winning deck no matter how you try and dress things up.

It is against every single mono that has a mark that matches the deck. Every. Single. One.

So, what if the mono has towers and gets a creature with 2 or more ATK out?

Well we were talking about void pillars, so I figured the opponent was unupped. In reality, you only need to have about half the deck be void pillars to more or less shut your opponent completely down, and you're free to do what you want with the other half.

EDIT- The deck would basically completely ruin all monos and cripple most duos fairly heavily, leaving you with half a deck to kill what they manage to play.

So adding this card would almost completely remove monos from the meta. Do you really think it adds more to the meta than basically all monos?

So I'm guessing that the other half of this deck would have quantum sources included in it? Even then, you could still dead draw Void Pillars that you no longer needed and the strategy is only very effective against a mono with the same mark.
Perhaps you could provide a sample deck with Void pillars that would completley destroy an unupped rainbow?

See edit from above.

It won't be able to beat unupped rainbows (ironically it will trash SNbows that rely on mark), but no deck can beat absolutely everything.

Void needs serious playtesting to judge balance. Any volunteers?

funny card. I don't think it is OP as it does no damage, and it costs you one turn to put it.

I could try, but how exactly can Void be tested? Such cards as Void are really different from card in the game now...
