I used the deck in the trainer but replaced the Eyes for unupgraded shards.
Unupped shards drain 1 quanta per click but remain in the hand. Thus you can click one 3 time to represent casting the Eye and 2x per usage of the skill.
Keep track of the number of cards destroyed and you win if the opponents deck drops below your cards destroyed count (at which point exit, check details for turn count and start again)

Last I checked the AI bases its PC on the cost of the permanent so It will always target the Upgraded Hourglasses before the Eyes thus the lack of a real permanent will not affect the results very much.
Very clever method, though it doesn't actually remove cards from the opponent's deck. Very vital cards that the opponent could be using would naturally be destroyed by Hieroglyph. Also, I tested using this method, and with an upped deck, I beat a level 3 in approximately 10 turns.

The Mormegil! You there? You only have a couple of hours to fix your submission to the requirements, or else it'll be disqualified for the Revive the Archive competition... :(

Well, it seems this card idea made it into the Crucible!
Thanks for everyone that voted for this card in the Revive the Archive competition. As you can see, it won! :D

I hope it goes well in the voting phases and that it will be moved into the Forge quickly! Thanks again to everyone that supported and still supports this idea!

Well, this did take a while, but we finally made it into the Forge. I don't know if a milling mechanic is ever going to make it into the game, but I do hope so. I feel this card has a great potential, first for its flavor, and second for its mechanic. Keep contributing to its advancement with your votes, people! To the Armory and beyond! ;)

This card is just too cheap, make it a spell.
This and rewind can destroy any unprotected creature for 3-5 :time. Depends on rewind source.
If the opponent has no creature, it can still shrink their deck, quite possibly messing up their deck strategy totally.
Result: this card will be in any deck. Only a played sanctuary protects from it.

Since the goal is to shrink the opponent's deck as a strategy, a spell would not do.

Examined at the bottom.

Yes it can mess up their deck with a large quanta investment. So can any disruptive strategy.

Result: This will be in any (time denial deck, time deckout or time control), not a (time rush, time OTK, time charge).

Hieroglyph + Rewind
Casting Cost: 4|3 :time + 1 card
Activation Cost: 2 :time + 2|1 :time + 1 card (equivalent to 4|3 :water + 1 card)
Benefit: Instant kill

Arctic Octopus + Shockwave
Casting Cost: 3|3 :water + 1 card
Activation Cost: 2 :water + 2|1 :air + 1 card (equivalent to 5|4 :water + 1 card)
Benefit: Instant kill, 1 attack

Direct comparison:
AO + S: Costs 1|0 to cast, has +1 attack (typically worth an extra +1 casting cost)
H + R: Costs 1 less to activate
They are balanced.
