You may have seen this thread http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,44530.0.html . I felt we should get this into motion.

Here is how I think this should be ran:
Volunteers sign up.
Depending on the number of participants will determine how many Ideas are assigned to each person.
Each participant is assigned an idea starting with Armory creatures.
Then the participants will create a deck using assigned idea with existing in game cards. Decks will be posted in a location still to be determined.
Next randomly seeded pairings will be generated. The matches will take place at an appointed time agreed upon by each pair of combatants. Each pair of combatants will have a minimum of one witness per battle/match. We will generate enough battle boards as needed. Upon completion of each battle/match combatants and witnesses will evaluate ideas tested. If any test result are undetermined ideas will be sent back into the pool of ideas to be tested again later.

Method of battle can be better explained by Zblader or OldTrees.
Once this explanation is written the we will be open for volunteers.

First thought is, does this go beyond cards from the Armory?  Can volunteers submit ideas they think truly deserved to be in the Armory and be determined by the Idea factory as acceptable?

I am one of the volunteers.

We will be using the http://sync.in/CardIdeaBattle system for playtesting the battles.
1) Players will design their deck.
2) Players will post their deck in http://sync.in/CardIdeaBattlefield1 (see lines 53 and 57)
3) Players will use the unique value function of the (RNG http://www.psychicscience.org/random.aspx) to order their deck to randomize draws
4) Players take turns checking the card they draw, updating their hand, playing cards and changing game data: status of creatures/permanents on the field, hp and quanta of players. (see lines 8 to 23 for player 1, see line 26 for the log of actions)
Warning: Games can take about 30 minutes.

Posting as requested. OldTrees has already explained the battle system fairly well.

I am not volunteering but may be able to sub/help with rulings if I am present on the board.

30-minute timespan may take longer if both players are using stalls. You can stop and resume a match any time you want, but build carefully. (Cards with lots of RNGing involved may also prolong the match time.)

You may want to not assign all Armory card ideas due to how much the game has changed or at least prioritize certain ideas with better design. Some players may also want to use more/less # of card ideas, depending on how fast they want the game to go, how easy deckbuilding will be for them, and variety of other factors. I suggest being a little flexible with how many cards players have to use (assuming a maximum and minimum are in effect).

We also have many card ideas to go through for our 'pool' of cards. Card selection may take a while, though I don't see an issue in allowing user-based card suggestions as long as they are well-designed.
