New player, looking for some help. https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=27505.msg349967#msg349967

Hi all.

I am new to the game and I've been trying out some different things but now I want to get an idea where I'm headed/ whether I should be doing something different.

I started with a basic Graboid Rush deck. It works well enough.

Next step was to try Grabbix (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,16828.0.html). I earned my first 1500 and my first upgrade went into upgrading one Immolate to Cremation. This deck is very fast against AI3 but poor against AI5.

Next I tried CC Why Bother? unupgraded. (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,23978.0.html)  I have all the parts to this except Miracle.
It is fun and competitive against level 5 enemies but my results against FGs were poor.
My main problem is that it's a crapshoot whether the deck would ever have a chance against some gods, then it seems like you need to pass that check, and also hope to pass the (Draw enough early quantum towers) check, then you need to be lucky enough to get a few sanctuaries, shield, weapon, antimatter and mind gate up before dying. Finally I have deckedout a few times too- when my damage dealers or Quint come too late or when I have enchanted my shield and weapon but not Mind Gate (Seems to be one error I have tried to correct though).
Should I persevere and hope to see better results or just grind some upgrades against AI3? (This deck seems to need a lot of upgrades before you make transitions out of the starting arrangement though).
I have had limited but good results against T50 but that server seems to be problematic at the moment- you can only play one game per login which is annoying since I've had a lot of success getting cards out of few game there.

So that's where I am.
In terms of weapons, upgrades and rares I have Cremation,  2x Pulverizer, 2x Owl's Eye, Pharaoh, 1x Titan, 1x Farenheit, 1x Arctic Squid, 1x Trident, 1x Silurian Dragon.

What should I do? I assume play a lot of t50 when it is working correctly but other than that- focus on beating up AI3s? Try AI5s with the Why Bother deck?

Thanks for reading my post.

I would recommend going after the AI3 with a deck that EMs quite often, as it seems that that will provide your best source of electrum at the moment assuming, of course, that the deck is fast enough.  AI5 is, quite honestly, rarely worth it if you're trying to go for upped cards or the fastest electrum unless you're using a deck such as this:

Code: [Select]
5c3 5c3 5c3 5c3 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6rm 6rm 6rm 6rm 6rm 6rm 6rn 6rn 6rn 6rn 6rn 6rn 77i 77i 77i 77i 77k 77k 77k 77k 77k 77k 7dm 7dm 7dm 7k2 7k2 7k2 7q4 7q5 7q5 7q5 7q5 7q8 7t6 7t9 7t9 7t9 (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,9483.0.html)

Even when fully upped, CCYB has a win percentage of right around 46-47% vs. False Gods, so you feeling like you're getting kicked around by the unupped version is certainly reasonable.  There are lots of different ways to go once you get more upped cards, but CCYB is a pretty good one, although there are other decks that are faster but have lower win percentages (like Perpetual Light (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,14312.0.html) or Hourglass 1 and only! (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,23950.0.html)), as well as decks that have higher win percentages, but are somewhat slower (such as I've GotP Time (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,22028.0.html)).

In short, my advice is to use a deck that consistently EMs the AI3 until you can get back to farming T50.  Best of luck and may you find wealth unending.

Thanks very much for the advice.
The Grabbix deck is fast but doesn't get EMs, I'll stick with that for now and maybe try something different in a little bit.

Even if you lose a lot when using CCYB unupped, keep at it.
Eventually you will make enough money to start building a FG Farmer, i reccommend one called Flay 'EM.
Just stick to the good ones on the forum until you have lots of money, then you can try to make your own.
