Given X votes, a competitor should vote for themselves leaving X-1 votes (normally 0) for other competitors. Spectators are able to use the full X votes on whoever they like, giving the competitors an unfair disadvantage personally.

In my opinion, competitors should be banned from voting on themselves, enforceable by switching voting to Google Forms or somesuch. Email address / forum name could be used to confirm identity, and it's no harder to cheat there than it is here.

However this might be a lot of effort for limited return.

Would be cool to have more than 1 vote in all competitions. I'd love to be able to vote for someone other than myself.

Currently the # of votes you get depends on the number of submissions. I wouldn't be against raising the minimum, but I'll leave it to the community to decide if that should be a thing or not. Reply here if you have any thoughts on the matter!

What is the current scaling of votes?



With the current comp (Fractalore), I see that for 8 submissions we still only have 1 vote seems a tad high in my opinion. To me this seems a tad on the high end, maybe at 5-6 submissions start adding in the 2nd vote. For this reason I'm voting on option 3.

It is... at the Competition Organizer's discretion! As far as I know, anyways. Solaris never told me anything official, and I didn't find anything in the private board about it. Here's my current rule of thumb, all values subject to change of course.

Bah, you know what I mean. If there's a low number of submissions there would be an extension. The scaling in those examples is just for example purposes, it can and will be adjusted as necessary.
