Feedback on competitions such as the epic 3 card one:

Why 3 cards? It really didn't matter if they were submitted in groups of three since in the end voting was done on just one. One of my ideas was good, but the other two were pretty bad, yet I still won. I just question the point of having to submit 3 at a time when in the end only one matters. Usually when things are grouped together, it represents a set to be judged as one. Otherwise, there is no need to do individual voting for each group, then vote on the best out of each group if in the end it just boils down to which is the best.

I disagree.  Voting on each type separately resulted in minor wins for each of three people.  If the competition had been who had the best 3 cards, I would have had no chance.  Instead, I won in my category.  I didn't get an icon for it, but I still got a sense of accomplishment.  I think the current format is perfect.

Apologies for my late response, furballdn : I would've considered voting on all three cards together if they had a thematic link of some sort or were meant to be built around a central mechanic of some sort. The images for this competition weren't exactly related so I saw no reason to vote on the cards as a group.

I also agree with Pella that separate voting allows a user to identify which of their 3 submissions was the best designed and a gives a sense of accomplishment, even if they don't win the competition as a whole. (In other words, it avoids the common 'issue' of CI&A series where people judge the group as a whole instead of taking time to judge each card.)

Regarding the triathlon: I dislike the fact that you can play vs another player. If it's allowed, you're basically forced to do it because it's by far the easiest option, but it's not as much fun as playing the AI and hoping it won't play something messing up your strategy.

Otherwise, first stage looks like fun right now! Might need a team afterall though, with that amount of challenges. :p

Regarding the triathlon:
My only suggestion (for now) is that you make the directions really specific (overly specific, even) for all the quests in the Screenshot Stage, because if they're vague, then there are loopholes. Even if it's "implied," there are still loopholes, so you have to  s-p-e-l-l  i-t  o-u-t  since you're not always online for players to ask for clarification.

We'd like some feedback on two issues:  How long should a competition be kept running? (To submit entries; voting time is excluded), and  How many competitions do you think should be run at the same time? So please place your vote in the poll! Feel free to post your opinion here, or suggest some other option if that's what you'd like. All other feedback is also welcome.

Please note that even if community favors an opinion, we COs might be forced to take another option for convenience at times. But we will try to uphold the community's wishes if we can

The submitting time should depend on the type of competition. A card designing comp can last 1 week, when 2 weeks for an article writing is the least you can give.

I found a few poetry-writing entries had a soundcloud link posted along the entry.

Considering how the voting works, I think that those links should  beprocessed through a URL-shortener services before pasted into the voting thread to help maintain anonimity. I think at least two entries have betrayed their anonimity this Competition alone thanks to their soundcloud link.

Currently the # of votes you get depends on the number of submissions. I wouldn't be against raising the minimum, but I'll leave it to the community to decide if that should be a thing or not. Reply here if you have any thoughts on the matter!

I feel as though allowing voters to put in more than one vote could end up being abused by participants by placing all of their votes on themselves, thus making the results unbalanced and non-representational of which submission was actually liked the most by the community.

I'd assume they mean by using the multiple vote option on the forum voting system, which will still limit you to to max one vote per submission.

Yeah if it says you can vote 3 times that means for up to 3 different people, not just lump 3 votes on the same person
