I completely agree- I got into fairly deep into a fighting game one year and players who are even just moderately better than you can make it seem like they are literally reading your mind. In fact in my post there I even mentioned that midn reading skills can make a big difference.
But what if a player was to, as I said in my post, roll a die to determine which of the three best decks he will use? Anticipating someone's actions is one thing, but anticipating the fall of a die halfway aroun the world is another thing. Even asides from that specific example I don't think anyone's prediction skills are infallible, which means that a large element of luck is involved, which may explain this "ELO turtling".
