Organizing Decks https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=6809.msg73393#msg73393

Before we had the import code feature, I use to take screenshots of my different decks and put them all in a folder.  Then after we could use codes to import decks, I started using a simple text file.  But after a dozen decks, I found it hard to organize the decks in any meaningful way.

I recently started using Journler for Mac (http://journler.com/).  It's great because you can create Tags and then make smart folders that automatically update based on pre-set criteria.

So with the War coming up and the need to be able to find, organize, and field a lot of different decks, I was wondering what people were using to organize all their decks?

I just use  simple import/export codes and copy-paste them on notepad. :P

It's definitely not very organized though, but I can't find an "organizer" type thing for Windows.
Back just for Mafia.

I save my decks on a draft in Gmail. This means that I can access my list wherever there is an internet connection. I organize everything on my draft.

I have 3 large headers: Mono, Duo, and Rainbow.

The Mono header is subdivided into each of the 12 elements.
The Duo header is subdivided by "Class": Flying Weapon, Unstable Gas, Golem, and Fractal are examples of these "classes".
The Rainbow header just has a bunch of rainbow decks in it.

Unupgraded decks are put below their upgraded counterparts.

It's a rudimentary system, but it works.

So far I use a few simple directories like "FGgrinders", "mono", "unupped", "upped", but certainly some tool might be helpful.
May the force of the D4HK side be with U ^_^

I currently use a microsoft word document with headings and then import codes below the deck titles. I've got it organized by pages, IE mono / duo / rainbow/ FG on separate pages and my Fg decks also generally have a simple win / loss / EM table below the import code as well. Maybe i should switch to a better system ><

That looks cool I wish there was something similar for Windows. Icybraker what do you mean I have Gmail and would like a way of organizing decks but not sure what you mean.

It's not a very efficient method of organization. It's essentially just a draft. Compose a message to yourself but don't send it; leave it in the Drafts section. It autosaves.

Alternatively, there are many other methods of network saving.

Microsoft Word FTW! lol

1 deck per page
clear heading on name -- average level AI it can take with mastery (out of 10)
then deck code
and then card list
finally have total cards and mark needed....
______________________________________________________________________
E.g.
FFQ (level 5 6/10 – level 3 9/10)
5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bv 5bv 5c6 5c6 5c6 5c6 5c6 5lb 5lb 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oj 5oj 5oj 5oj 5oj 5oj
7 x Emerald Pillar
2 x Rustler
5 x Empathic Bond
2 x Pegasus
9 x Wind Pillar
6 x Firefly Queen

Mark of Air

31 Cards + Mark (Mark should be Air or Life)
______________________________________________________________________
that's how i roll - i would suggest having images of the deck instead of the list of cards - but i dont know how to do that yet >_<

Maybe someone could make a small website to store decks ? Or maybe, because the website already exist, the Elements Statistics website could be extended ?
This way, you could have a way to organize deck that is designed to do that.

I'm storing my decks in a txt file with a quick descriptive name :P

I have a great memory so I just store them in me brains. If it's something I'm just toying around with I will put it in a file, though. But every deck I use, I know up and down, backwards and forwards.

I use Microsoft Excel. It's easier for me since i track all my stats in Excel as well. It's pretty tidy and i have over 20 decks on a page full of T50 stats.

I know a number of people were looking for a way to organize their decks on Windows.  If you're still looking, check out Evernote.  It's a great program that gives you flexibility in how you organize your info.  I've been using it for a while for non-Elements related things (class notes from college, etc.), but I think you could easily adapt it to store and organize all your different decks.  It's available for Mac+PC as well as a number of different mobile platforms.  And since it syncs to the cloud, you should be able to access your stuff from their website on any computer (for those who also play at their friend's house).
