| NOTES: | See Blood Pillar | Blood Tower for discussion of Blood counter mechanics.
This card acts just like other damage reduction shields with one major exception. It absorbs damage from spell damage and "nondescript" damage sources as well.
It does not stop momentum or internal damage. E.g. poison damage, voodoo or HP loss from Blood or SoSac mechanics.
When a source deals damage is to owner, the damage reduction is calculated first, then 1 Blood counter is removed. If there are no Blood counters left it will still provide 1(2) points of reduction.
This shield provides slightly higher production rates / efficiency than pillars. Two per turn just seemed a little too low considering it is required to power the bonus reduction. Since players cannot have more than one shield, however, this shouldn't upset the balance too much, even if there is a means to move counters around.

Lore: "Shields of this type were commonly used by the Stone Guard battalion of the Blood Heretics during their wars with the false gods of the elemental planes… The shield made its wielder nearly impervious in short durations of single combat. Unfortunately, not only did it take a terrible toll on its user, it was also vulnerable to swarm tactics. Many proud members of the Stone Guard were cut down during their assaults on Ferox and the Fire Queen."

Whether the glass is half full or half empty is a moot point. It is always filled to the brim. It is only a matter of by what. The real question is: What fills you?
If your zombie plan is
