I'm not sure how much the name makes sense here. If you're getting a poison effect from life, it should come from something like thorns, or a poisonous plant. Directly poisoning someone and then making it work faster just seems like a death card to me. I like the idea of this card but I think it would work better as a different card, actually. Maybe just a card which gives all creatures on the field adrenaline, and you could combo it with plague if you had a dual death/life deck, or you could just use it for a mono life deck. The single-target adrenaline still would have uses for costing less in rushes, and not helping out your enemy.

A Catalyst is something that speeds something else up. Catalyst speeds up both their damage and death.

I do see how the effect itself could be death, but the name at least definitely deserves to be life. I personally think the effect works and Life really needs a better form of CC since at the moment, if you go mono with it it's just a decent rush with no control whatsoever that is still trumped by other rushes.

A catalyst is something which can speed a change, sure. But this card is putting the change in place (poison), and THEN speeding it. I don't see where the poison is thematically coming from.

I believe Sundial reduces the attack power of all creatures to 0, making ones with Adrenaline "attack" 5 times. So yes, there's a deadly combo there.
I've tested this just now, it's not true.  I used Spine Carapace to give an enemy Lava Golem one poison counter, then used Adrenaline on it and played a Sundial.  It only suffered 2 poison damage - in line with its 10 attack power at the time.

Terminology: Creatures are "Infected" and have "Infection" counters.

Interaction:

I have confirmed Johannhowitzer's experiment.
This is a change that occured sometime in the past.

Theme: The theme needs work to explain/justify the inclusion of "Plague" in Life.

Balance:
Obviously this is equal or better than Plague but does not have in element death trigger cards.
Creature has 0 or 16+ attack (1 infection per 'attack' same as plague)
Creature has 1-3 attack (1 infection per 'attack' same as plague, Phase Shield and Sundial x4)
Creature has 4-8 attack (1 infection per 'attack' same as plague, Phase Shield and Sundial x3, loss of ~1/3 of damage and DR shields are improved)
Creature has 9-15 attack (1 infection per 'attack' same as plague, Phase Shield and Sundial x2, loss of ~1/3 of damage and DR shields are improved)

7 :life|6 :life does sound about balanced (within +/-2 :life)

Thinking about changing cost from 7/6 to 6/5. Opinions?

I really like the "affects both sides idea". That way you get a way to stomp early pressure in a slow roll healing life deck, and also a nice finishing move a la Chimera/Skyblitz for the normal rush decks.
