I completely rebuilt the standings spreadsheet to match the new ruleset and scoring. I improved updating process by adding drop-down menus for scoring. Also, standings are now auto-sorted and challengers are listed based on their score so that the challenger under the Master is the top challenger.

I also made a new Final Battle sheet that will be posted when the time comes.

I'd love to join myself but I'm not fond of the entire popularity contest wich is part of the trials. I don't think I'd make a great Master anyway.

I don't understand why so many people call it a "popularity contest" like it's somehow a bad thing. There's nothing wrong with letting the community give extra points to people who they think would make the best Master.

It's important to remember that Trials are not just another PvP event. Idea is to find a person who is the "face" of a certain element. We've had Masters who took the whole thing as nothing more than a PvP event without really caring about the element they picked. Then we've had Masters who might not be that active in PvP but really promote their Element and represent it every chance they got. My vote goes to the latter every single time.

I would also like to add that the "popularity contest" is a very small part of the Trials because it's only 10 points divided between all 5 players. Phase 1 alone gives everyone 9 points or 12 if you get the bonus.

Player A completes 1 task in phase 1 for only 3 points and 1 point bonus. 
Player B completes all the tasks and gains 9 points only without a bonus.
C & D dont do any tasks.

Player A gets last in phase 2 and Player B takes third for 1 point.  C & D get 1st and 2nd respectively.

People favour Player A over Player B, and Player A gets 70% of the votes and Player B only gets 5%.   C & D get 12 and 13% respectively for 1 point each.

Total
Player A = 11
Player B = 10
Player C = 7
Player D = 4

Even though Player B did better in the first two phases, he still loses out to Player A because of the votes.  Player A goes on to beat the master and all is well,

You can also come up with scenarios in which the player receiving the most votes doesn't win. That doesn't mean Phase 1 & 2 are unfair. All 3 phases contribute to determine the winner, and all 3 give the challengers the opportunity to prove why they should be master.

I'm ignoring some of the above because the points are set, and no matter how they're set there will be some concern over how they're set.  But there seems to be some confusion over the 3 bonus points I'm awarding.

Additionally the Trials Overseer will award 3 bonus points to the player from each element who has the best overall submissions.

Just to be clear:

• If nobody from completes all three tasks, nobody from gets bonus points.  3 bonus may still be awarded to each of the other 11 elements.
• If one player from completes all three tasks, he is awarded the 3 bonus points.  No matter how insanely idiotic his submission is.
• If 2-5 players from complete all tasks, I will award 3 bonus points to the one player that has the best overall submissions.

Then I'll move on to and so on.
