New Card Suggestion - Gift/Bestow https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=2881.msg24158#msg24158

Ok so this might seem really wierd and I understand it may not have a huge amount of use at times but sometimes these things can be of use.

With some of the new shields coming into play there may be times when this could be of use. For instance if a shield gave a bonus to all fire creatures in play and you had two shields in your hand you could play one, git it then play the other gaining the bonus twice as it would stack.

Not too sure but hey it could be used if you think outside the box a bit.

Gift (normal)

Bestow (Upgraded)

SO really an out there idea but it has its uses:

They have a Morning Star in play (Immortalised) you can then gift them your dagger (as you can't steal or destroy the morning star your dagger takes its place) thus getting rid of the bonus for the Morning Star and removing it from play.

This is just one way to use it, would work as well in replacing Bone Walls, Dissapation SHields, Phase SHields, any Immortalised Weapon or Shield. You could also use it to create Boneyards on their side thus filling their board with 1/1 creatures and if you had rewind you can put them back into their hand as well.

Just some of the uses for this card.

I look forward to your candour in advice and correction with this card.

Yours

Whoa. Nice card. May even be a bit overpowered :) I would use this card. Good ideas once more, Scyther. Great permanent control.  Only problem is, the name makes it sound very positive, but instead, it's a negative. Maybe renaming it or something. Also, I don't understand why it has to be for the Entropy element; the Light element sounds like it would do this.

I originally went for light  but due to the twisted nature of entropy (mutatation, choas seed etc) I decided to flow with that as I thought it may fit that history better, although I am open to suggestion.

I would consider another name but haven't really come up with anything as I designed it so I went with the original idea but I hope to have some ideas as to name over the next little while.

Thanks again for the words of wisdom.

I have considered raising the cost by 1 to try and slow it done as a OP card but initially went with the same cost as steal.

Thanks

I like the concept and can attest that I have thought WAY more than once about a reverse steal (like when bonewall is up to 30....)

Obviously as the card's creator, you get to name it--but might I suggest something along the lines of "Swindle" or "Ruse"?   Also, change the card text to "permanents".

Is it too powerful?  Not sure yet.  As for cost, the more extensive the uses, the higher the cost ought to be.  If you can give someone a graveyard and then reverse the skellies which they can't play because they don't use death....
But if it only worked on shields/weapons, that may be different.

You wouldn't want to do that if they had death cards.  But you could give a light or fire deck user a graveyard, kill a creature and then reverse one skeleton after another into his hand which he cannot play and therefore handcuff him. And if they had your 60-70+ bonewall up, you could "gift" a light shield or firebuckler instead and all those bonewalls would disappear--FOREVER!

I was thinking long time in suggest a card like this but was unsure about cost or element i got many decktypes based on gifting permanents to enemies, got in mind an aflatoxin/boneyard + condor and gift fire shield and so

great idea + karma

Interesting idea. I've toyed with it before - props to you for putting it down as an idea with the image art.

The route I was going when thinking of this sort of concept was: Certain cards can be played either, for yourself, or as though your enemy played it himself.

1) You cast Boneyard or Graveyard, you can choose the corresponding field it goes it, ie, yours or your opponents.
2) Rain of Fire can similarly target either your own field or your opponents.
3) Eclipse should give a -1/-1 to all nondeath/nondarkness creatures and a +1/+1 to all death/dark creatures - but only on the side of the board it is played on. This gives it added offensive aswell as defensive capabilities.

Sorry for topic-hijacking a bit - but the Gift idea is only really useful for a few certain cards, and the way you have suggested it is - that you have to play your permanent first AND then gift it? Too expensive. Gifting a card will rarely (if ever?) create such a game changing dynamic that it has to cost X quanta and Y entropy for it to be pulled off.

Simply put, you hit the same stumbling block I came across with a similar idea to this. Of course, it would be perfect to nullify an opponents Bone Wall - but  what if he has Protected that bonewall? Or weapon etc... It becomes too complicated.
