Open Letter to Potential Platinum Leaguers https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=28002.msg357364#msg357364

To prevent our league from becoming virtually unplayable i suggest we self-impose some limits.  Like restraining ourselves from taking the enhanced mark/ increased draw abilities.  Suggest what you think would be appropriate.

We could punish anyone who doesn't go along by giving them -reputation or spamming them with PMs in chat or something.  Ideas are appreciated.

Maybe this won't be necessary with the dynamic reward system, but i thought i'd get the ball rolling just in case.

Thoughts?

Idea: Stop worrying. If one of you boss people can get to the FG stage, any of you can. If someone's throwing their weight around too much, than the rest of you can tag-team battle him until his computer breaks or his score goes down.

In theory, at least.

Some of these are not even funny anymore.....
Onizuka: 60 cards, 12 Silences, double draw... After 2nd turn I couldn't play anything....
With such decks out there, I don't think I'll farm too much more in the Arena... It kills any incentive to play the game.

Also at Level 59 I don't think I'll farm too much at all, would stand little chance in a league, which is not even played! (with decks as shown above)

When are you free?  It will be easier to communicate this in chat, i think.

If the decks are impossible, rewards go up to extremely high amounts. The Arena system is fine. Besides, there isn't any good way to enforce your restrictions unless the whole forum agrees.
Somehow still around, somewhat

No

And breaking forum/chat rules will only get you banned, there is no sympathy in harassing people who are making decks exactly as they were intended to be: the hardest possible decks. Why would you let people farm you if you get a chance to farm them? The only reason I would ever agree on such a thing is so I could backstab and get fortunes of electrum by being one of the few with competitive decks €_€

Nah I think it is fine.
I felt the same way when the thing was fresh and hot, and all my best decks just "bounced back" from the wall of Platinum League.
Then I took a step back and examined the problem with a fresh eye. I made a deck that seems to work.
Now I'm able to achieve much faster score/electrum gain in platinum than anything else possible before. I agree that there are decks that are a bit too much, and it takes luck to make a rare sppin in platinum.
I do think though, that with the current system, I will be using platinum a lot. Of course decks will change with time.

I'm gonna chime in here; vigilante action is not needed at all.  Arena is still in beta; trends will likely need weeks to see for certain.

I think it´s too early to see trends. I mean,  beta is ca 24h old and - it´s beta. Not all players read forum and chat news daily.
The database has more skeleton decks than there should be normally and there are no old decks, yet.
Players should behave in a way they would normally do -so the rewards can be balanced.

to punishing ?
Why should players be punished in an illegal way for a legal behaviour , which you don´t like ?
I`m teffy, here - and Ringat on Kongregate
